Post lockdown bliss

Watching YouTube during the height of the pandemic, and looking at caravan sites to cheer ourselves up, we came across this beautiful place. We took a leap of faith and booked straight away, not knowing how long lockdown would last. Luckily lockdown eased just in time for our break, and we are so glad we booked. Venn farm is everything it says on the description. It’s tranquil, immaculately kept, and it feels very Covid secure with contactless check-in, and regular cleaning of any touch points. The 5 pitches are huge, and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The only sounds are those of the birdsong, and sheep. This is definitely my new favourite adults only CL in the U.K. Thank you YouTube!

Gem of a site

Our first outing as we have been isolating for a year. Of course we were very wary of what we would find. My goodness this site is absolutely beautiful. The vans have lovely pitches, including a picnic table.....it`s just like home from home only better!!. There are bird feeders, and a good variety of different birds including a woodpecker, and nuthatch as well as blue tits, sparrows etc.....fabulous. Everthing on this site is immaculate, which we were really glad about, and we were informed of what was happening every step of the way. Andy was so kind, and actually phoned us when we left, because we had left our step behind. Thank you Andy, you were great and gave us the confidence to go out again.

Tranquil and Peaceful site

Well organised, tidy site in a peaceful and tranquil setting. Adults only. Plenty space on pitch with all services and a picnic table. Beautiful 15 acre woodland walk, ideal with or without a dog. Didn’t see the beavers, just their work but plenty other nature. Andy, the owner cleaned pitches between guests, gates and communal areas several times a day. Would advise taking road from A30 past the Roadford lake as driving through Launceston not ideal as tight and steep. Highly recommend and will be back next year. Motorhome couple with dog.

Can't fault it...

'Adults Only' spacious site in nature reserve - you might see some beavers - you'll certainly see the dam they've built! Nearby Launceston has a great free museum, supermarket and pubs. There's Roadford Lake and Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre nearby... We found that the 'alternative' road directions better, as you don't travel through Launceston... https://devoncl.co.uk/findus.html

Fabulous site

We stayed at Venn Farm for a week and were very impressed with this fabulous site. The facilities are excellent, with very large pitches which each have a picnic bench, individual water taps for each pitch and free wifi. The pitches are well laid out and immaculately kept. Andy is very welcoming and justifiably proud of his CL. The adjacent woodland walk was lovely - unfortunately we didn't manage to spot the beavers but did see evidence of their hard work in building their dam! Birdfeeders are kept full on the site so you have lots of feathered friends visiting the feeders and adding to the beautiful views. The site is within easy driving distance of Launceston and its local shops and supermarkets. While here we visited Lydford Gorge, Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Tamar Otter Park. I'd recommend the Racehorse Inn for meals - very reasonably priced, lovely views and excellent food. We have Venn Farm on our list of sites to revisit and are looking forward to coming back here. If travelling from the North, I'd recommend following the alternative directions avoiding Launceston town that are given on the site's own website - we found our journey far easier than our friends who followed the club's directions through Launceston!

Tranquil

This was our first visit to this site. We were on a three night mini break. We can honestly say this is the best site we have been to and will definitely be back and stay for longer. Everything you need is on your pitch. Large pitches. It’s quiet and peaceful with lovely views and beautiful walks for the dog. Very friendly easy to get to owner welcoming and convenient to get to lots of places of interest. Fantastic. Couple with dog motorhome and tow car

Fabulous Easter Break

Probably the most tranquil site we have stayed at, ever. Bird song from morning to night, spacious well laid out and fully serviced pitches. Great dog walk through the woods. We saw what the Beavers have done but sadly we did not see them as you need to be there around dusk or daylight and we weren’t up for that 😁

Peaceful

Had 4 nights here and enjoyed the stay. The pitches are very large, wifi free and good, its the quietest site I have ever been on and the sky is totally black which is hard to find today. Dog walk good with lots of birdlife, we even had a woodpecker feeding from the bird feeder on site. The c.l is worthy of being one of the best in the club. It is based in central Devon which suited us but others need to happy with this as its some 30 mins from the coast. If you want peace and quiet and to just relax this site is the one.

Superb CL

Just returned from 6 nights at this CL and what a great place it is to stay! The large hardstanding pitches were well spaced each fully serviced with a grassed area and picnic bench, really couldn’t be better! This is a well set up site with a friendly owner who is around but not intrusive and the further bonus of wi-fi and the wonderful woods to walk in with plenty of wildlife including those rare Beavers. We didn’t get more than a glimpse of a Beaver at dusk, but their work was evident and fascinating, and we did see Kingfishers and the curious Lamas peeping over the fence. As mentioned earlier do follow the directions and not the Satnav to avoid getting onto difficult roads, although the last couple of miles are a bit narrow this is rural Devon so only to be expected. The payback being complete peace and quiet and no light pollution, so you can see the Milky Way. Loads to do in the area, we could have stayed longer if only they weren’t fully booked. We really look forward to visiting again.

Word's are not enough

Just spent seven wonderful night's at Venn farm. Well worth the journey from Blackpool just to see this site. Attention to detail of all the facilities for the beautiful well maintained service pitch's are second to none with the added bonus of wi-fi . Lamas Beavers and all the rest of the animal's simply outstanding. We have stayed at many CL sites in 20 year's of caravaning but this is simply the best and should be given an award. Woodland work lake bench's for every one large pitch's field's to walk the dog's and enjoy. Leaflet with all the information and important number's you need. And a lovely welcome. Wish it was closer would spend every weekend possible at this site.
