Peace and quiet

CoolThis our first experience on a "A" only site and a service pitch. However we have been using CL's for 15 years. So for what its worth here is our review. The directions in the book are spot on, DO READ THEM or miss the site entrance .  The site is very well presented and maintained, the attention to detail is excellent .  You have a mowed path to follow in the woods, doggy poo bag dispenser at the gate, segregated colour coded re cycling facilities and a fully stocked bird feeding station.

Superb value for money??

In my experience the pitches have services second to none. The pitches are all level and hard standings, with hook up and a grey water disposal and fresh water tap within easy reach. There are large grassed area's with your own picnic table on each. The owner's are friendly and helpful, they will even supply an emergency lemon for your gin and tonic! The cl is set in a beautiful peaceful rural setting, there is a bird table that is visited by many different species, such as nuthatches and greater spotted woodpeckers. The site is very well kept and tidy, ideal for dogs and a lovely peaceful retreat. We found the surrounding lanes were ideal for cycling,Roadford lake is a couple of miles away, where you can enjoy a picnic looking out over the lake, makes for a pleasant circular cycle ride.

Disappointed

We agree with most of what is said about this site. It is quiet and very well kept and the facilities are good. We chose this site particularly because it advertised itself as being "surrounded by stunning views of the open countryside". This for us is an important part of our holiday and we were very disappointed to find there were no views, stunning or otherwise. On one side is a field/paddock and the other is a rather high hedge, beyond which is the view you cannot see. Its such a shame because if the hedge had been better managed, we wouldn't have felt so cheated. This is purely a personal preference and if a view doesn't bother you, its a nice site to stay at.

Cracking CL

This is a lovely tranquil well maintained CL, very professionally run. Each large pitch has hard standing with grass alongside and is fully serviced. There is plenty of room between the pitches and picnic tables to each one. Adjacent there is a beautiful woodland walk ideal for walking the dog. The approach road is rather narrow but there are passing places. Adviseable to follow the directions in the book and not the sat nav. Ideal for visiting Bude and Tintagel etc, this is one of the better sites on the network.

A great find

We tried this site for one night and what a find. A fully serviced hard standing pitch and bags of space between pitches. We have dogs and there is a fantastic walk ideal for dogs. Owners very welcoming.

good choice

recommended by a friend as a brilliant site and was not disappointed. Fully serviced hard standings, although we were not equipped to use this facility but being near to the tap made forgetting the handle for the aquaroll less irritating. very pleasant welcome by Andy and Tina (thank you Andy for the advice to get my tablet working) good wifi on the site Had to leave early to get back home for a new clutch, meeting and stopping for a bus on a 16% incline did not help an aging clutch. we will return

2nd Visit to Venn Farm

Just had our 2nd visit to Venn Farm and its the same as last year an exceptional CL which comes highly recommended. The owners keep the site to a high standard and cannot be more helpful if needed. This time round I did not miss the entrance due to somebody pinching the Caravan Club CL sign. The local pubs especially The Eliot Arms are superb with a great menu and atmosphere. If you are in the area looking for a great nursery and local restaurant you have got to visit Holmlea and if you are looking for a local farmshop then we highly recommend Liftons farmshop about 10 minutes away.Again this CL comes highly recommended and we WILL be visiting again.

LOVELY

This is a lovely CL. Peaceful and quiet, with fully serviced pitches, which was a real treat and all for £12 per night. There is also a lovely private wood to walk the dog too. Venn Farm has everything you could need for a very relaxing time.

Simply the BEST

Fantastic site, NO bad points, owners Andy and Tina very caring, friendly and helpful. Nicely situated for most attractions in both Devon and Cornwall. If you are after peace and quite this CL is a must, being adult only it was like heaven. This CL site is the best we have stayed at, even better than most full sites, if you use your own van facilities. Well done Andy and Tina and thank you, see you in 2017
