An exceptional CL in every way

Tyddyn Osgar is a really outstanding CL, in the level of facilities, the excellent maintenance and layout, and especially the friendly and helpful owners John and Rachel. There is a choice of fields, one all grass a little distance from the house and the B road, the other hardstanding close to both. Rachel kindly rang me in the morning to explain the options, and met us on arrival to show us. With some wet weather forecast, we chose the hardstanding as facilities were much nearer, a water tap for every pitch and both the toilet and emptying point very close. During our stay Rachel and John both stopped by for a chat and gave us many suggestions of what to do in the area, particularly The Dingle at Llangefni, where we spotted five red squirrels. I found some superb quiet lanes around Brynteg, but even the B roads were not too busy.

One of the best

Just returned from a very relaxing 2 week stay at Tyddyn Osgar and absolutely loved it there. It is in a great location for exploring the whole of Anglesey yet is so peaceful and quiet, with the views of Snowdonia being the icing on the cake! The site is clean, tidy and well cared for and pitches are generous in size with the bonus of being fully serviced, and the toilet and shower were spotless. Rachel and John are lovely, being on hand and helpful but unobtrusive. Rachel's local knowledge was great and helped us in our daily explores and walks. Thank you Rachel and John, we will return!

Excellent CL

We were booked on another CL close by but on arrival it wasn’t suitable due to ground conditions. Having consulted the club book I rang Rachel and she couldn’t have been more helpful. We therefore moved to Tydden Oscar. The CL is a couple of hundred yards off the road down a track and consists of a sloping field with grass pitches but where the pitches are it’s relatively flat. You might need a ramp for level but it’s manageable. Each pitch has water and EHU. On arrival we were met by John who insisted on mowing our selected pitch before we moved on - 3 other pitches were already taken. John had a collection of large heavy duty rubber mats and he put one at our hab door and one by our front wheel to assist in getting onto a ramp as the grass was quite damp. I mentioned to John that one of my roof level sidelights had gone on our journey but as it was 3m off the ground I couldn’t change it. John went off and came back with a step ladder; bulb changed! The site has wi-fi, (password obtained from Rachel), a shower room and a toilet. The elsan disposal point is between these and all are spotlessly clean. The site is about a 10 minute drive to Benllech beach which is stunning and has ample parking. I can thoroughly recommend the Bay View cafe! Within a few minutes drive there are ample shops and pubs and there is a large Asda about 5 miles away at Llangethni. This is one of the best CL’s we have been on and the hosts, Rachel and John, could not be more welcoming and helpful..

Welcoming

On arrival there is a sign telling you what pitch you are on, although Rachel was there to welcome us and show us where to go. Toilet and shower is spotlessly clean. The grounds are kept very tidy and there is a recycling corner for your rubbish. There is facilities for chemical disposal and Wi-Fi is free. Lots of information in the toilets for things to do etc, but Rachel and John are on hand to help in any way they can. Would definitely return if in the area, as ideally situated for visiting all of Anglesey. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a gem of a site

We booked this site as the site we wanted was fully booked, this was a good move as this site is by far better than the one we had already been on and tried to rebook. Peaceful, friendly, easy access to anywhere on Anglesey. Great views of the mountains. We will be back next year all being well. Love this place.

Pleasant stay

If possible a more prominent sign would be useful as we almost over shot the entrance. There is a board welcoming you and indicating your pitch. The site is clean , tidy and well cared for. We use our own facilities but the toilet facilities were very clean, it doubles up as an information room, games and books to use. There is electric and water on each pitch, being at the end of the run ours was a bit slow but it was nice not to have to go to a central water point. Recycling facilities were on site. The owners are friendly, approachable and helpful re local areas. We have dogs and there were not any walks directly from the site so an area where the dogs could exercise would have made it perfect. Would definitely visit again.

Clean and Tidy

We only stayed for a night but I was so impressed with how tidy and clean the site was. On arrival, there is a sign post pointing you to your pitch. We had a nice welcome and pleasant stay. I would use this site again

Great place to stay

Just had two week stay at this fantastic site. John and Rachel made us feel very welcome and were so helpful with places to visit. The site itself was very well kept, the shower and toilet were cleaned twice a day. Its a perfect base to explore the island. I would say its one of the best CL sites we have stayed on. Thank you Rachel and John.
