Perfect Site

Brambles is a lovely quiet site, where the grounds are maintained to encourage wildlife. The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. The toilet facilities were clean and well kept. It is a perfect location for visiting Newborough Forest and Beach. We will definitely be returning, thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful site and lovely owners!

The CL site is so beautiful and peaceful and spotlessly clean. All amenities are ready on your pitch - electric hook-up, water, bins and grey water disposal. The setting is so lovely with a little walk area around 2 small lakes. The site obviously been made with love! We had a lovely stay and will be back I'm sure. Thank you Best wishes Karen and John Walker

Marvelous facilities for a CL

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Brambles. Eric and Sue have thought of everything to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. Lovely large secluded pitches. With your own tap!! A refuse and recycling bin on each pitch. Which they kindly empty each day. Grey water emptying at your pitch. So you barely have to walk anywhere! They have a spotless shower and toilet facility, which we did not use, as we shower in our caravan, and all for £18 a night. Eric sent us lots of useful information prior to arrival. They gave us a friendly welcome. We only wish we did not live so far away in Suffolk, as we would visit Brambles regularly. We would definitely recommend this site.

As Good as It Gets

The previous reviews have made my life a lot easier as they've virtually said all that needs to be said about this 5* C.L. All I would add is that the pre-visit preparation was excellent, from emails from Eric to PDF instructions for how to arrive, local information and what was expected on site. All laid out in a professional manner. The free wifi is as Eric states "Steam Powered" but providing you don't expect too much is fine. Just a word of caution about the entrance. The gate is wide enough but take the entrance route to the CL section carefully as the path edges have either logs or large stones and could catch you out if you cut any corners. We found it fine. The single track entrance road only lasts for 100 yards until you reach Brambles. There are free car parks for those that want to access Newborough Forest and beach, two at Malltreath Sands, about 1 mile from site turning westwards in Newborough and one at Pen-Lon, roughly the same distance but eastwards. Extremely quiet site. All in all a perfect place to spend some time in a caravan. Pitches are large by the way. Many thanks to Eric and Sue for their hospitality and to their 2 dogs who are as friendly as they come.

What a find!

Just returned from 4 nights at Brambles - and what a fabulous site! Each of the 5 bays were spacious, level and very private having their own taps, bins, grey waste drain and 16 amp electricity supply. The free WiFi was excellent and TV reception good. Literally everything you need! The site was immaculate and beautifully laid out. The location is great - nature all around and within walking distance of Newborough which has a Premier shop and pub. It’s great for dogs too - our border collie loved it - watching the rabbits run around early morning! We walked to the beach which is probably a good 2 to 3 miles away. The walk begins on roads but soon goes through a beautiful pine forest which has a maze of paths and tracks. It’s stunning - especially on the island where the views are gorgeous! You can easily drive there too - parking next to beach. It was free when we visited but normally costs £5. Dogs can go anywhere on the beach out of season - but good restricted access during the summer. Eric and Sue could not have been more friendly and helpful - both before and during our stay - really lovely people as are their gorgeous two dogs! We have already re-booked for the summer and can’t wait to return. Thank you very much Eric and Sue. Libby, Nev and Nellie xx

November 2020

Just arrived home after 4 night pleasant stay at "Brambles". I've stayed at plenty of CL sites over the years but I must say the facilities at "Brambles" are the best. Eric & Sue emailed plenty of relevant information on travelling to the site to make our journey effortless. A very quiet and relaxing site near Newborough from which we had some excellent cycle rides.

Arrival on day of first lockdown

We stayed at Brambles in March 2020. This is therefore a very belated review, for which I offer my apologies. However, I could not let the chance to extol the virtues of Brambles completely pass by. Although a Club member for over 20 years, I would normally only use a CL for an overnight stop. Having moved to Anglesey at the beginning of the year, we wanted to stay local for our first trip out in the caravan and chose Brambles based on the positive reviews. Speaking with Eric when booking was a delight and he kindly e-mailed a detailed description of the facilities on offer, with a very helpful map which came in handy as it would be easy to miss the lane leading to the site. We actually arrived on the day the Club announced it's sites were to close; we had not checked the Club website before setting off, believing there was no risk of sites closing at that stage! Complying fully with the Club's closing policy, Eric very kindly allowed us to stay for a couple of nights, for which we were extremely thankful. A better place to socially distance, one couldn't imagine. Very secluded pitch, separate from the house, but secure in the knowledge that Eric and Sue were to hand if any problems arose. We had a great couple of days, and look forward to re-visiting for a longer stay.

Superpitch CL

Superbly laid out CL with facilities at each pitch. The grounds are well maintained with secluded pitches. Highly recommended with a warm welcome. Well located for access to Newborough Beach.

AMAZING, WELCOMING, FANTASTIC

We have stayed at many CL sites over the years but this is by far the best one we have ever found. The site itself is beautifully laid out, each pitch has its own water and waste facilities including recycling and household waste. The pitches themselves are each separated and very secluded. There are beautiful ponds surrounded by very lush grass beautifully maintained. There is a lovely toilet and shower very clean and even hand sanitiser outside before you enter so very Covid secure and the chemical waste point is very clean. Eric, Sue and their beautiful dog Izzy are without doubt the most loveliest of people and go the extra mile to accommodate requests that are within their power to do so. We were met on arrival by Eric who was so charming. It was only the fact Wales was closing down due to Covid we had to come home and we cannot wait to return again when its safe to do so. We definitely feel we were leaving having made some wonderful friends. Thank you so much for such a wonderful holiday.

Hidden Gem

We attended this CL last weekend and feel we should leave a well deserved review for what can only be described as a hidden gem of sites. Located just off the A55 this site hosts 5 fully serviced pitches of which all are hard standing. The site owners Eric and Sue provided good directions and were there to meet us on arrival. It was a first time for us on a serviced pitch and found both our waste pipe and mains hose slightly too short but Eric kindly provided some hoses for our use. The site is quiet and compact but has a nice lolly pond and dog walking area. The shower block is warm and spacious and the chemical waste point is covered and spotlessly clean. The site promotes Covid etiquette and social distancing and hand sanitisers are present. We love Anglesey and this site is a good base for excursions anywhere. We are hoping to return in the winter.
