We have just spent a lovely week at this beautifully positioned site overlooking the City of Wells. We received an amazingly warm welcome from Nina and her family when we arrived and throughout our stay, such a lovely family !! They were also very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The site and its facilities are pristine and we would definitely love to revisit in the future. We are sure your site will have plenty of bookings...but leave a space for us !!!
This is a peaceful site situated only minutes away from the tiny city of wells. The owners and their daughter are lovely people who take the time and effort to make your stay as perfect as possible. We recently stayed for the weekend and were presented with beautiful cakes and a local newspaper upon arrival. The cakes were home baked by the daughter and were truly scrumptious !
Views from the site are awesome and there is a pleasant walk across fields into Wells.
The site is well worth the visit, you won't regret it!
This wonderful site has been created with care, thought, in sympathy with the surroundings and with the needs of the guest in mind. If you follow the directions, which are very clear, it is easy to find from the A39.
The location makes it perfect for the attractions in the area. I stayed during the build up for the Glastonbury festival which could be just seen twinkling in the very far distance. Having said that, the views from every aspect are stunning.
The site is quiet with only an occasional passing car. There is certainly no background road noise and the birds are to be clearly heard all around.
Nina is friendly, welcoming and efficient. Every aspect of my booking was quick and easy with no complications or drama.
In short, for a base to explore out from or as a quiet retreat from the world, you would search a long time to find somewhere of the same high standard. I will certainly be back.
We were honoured to be the first to camp at Primrose, a new CL in an ideal location a mile south of Wells. The site has some of the best views in this part of Somerset, being situated on a ridge overlooking the cathedral city of Wells to the north and Glastonbury Tor to the south. This is Somerset at its best, Wells is a vibrant little city that can be reached via a 30min walk on footpaths and there are other walks that can be taken from the campsite.
The site was peaceful, access in our motorhome was easy and the services were well designed - and brand new. The paddock was well drained and with only a slight slope that our risers coped with easily. The family who own the site couldn't have been more helpful and gave us a special welcome as their first guests. It was a pleasure to enjoy a quiet, well serviced and superbly located campsite and we have no hesitation in recommending it highly.
