I recently had 3 nights staying on this beautiful CL site with our small motorhome. Communication with the site owner (Nina) was excellent and their own web site provided lots of additional information. Access was easy and Nina was there to welcome me with a pack of information and to show me my grass pitch. A small very neat service area provides all the re-cycling and facilities needed and I had the benefit of electric hook-up. The site is rural and on a hill overlooking Wells (about 1.5 miles away) and is close to the National Cycle Route 3, so I would strongly recommend taking bikes as both Wells and Glastonbury are in easy reach - and yes you can see Glastonbury Tor from the site. I chose to catch the local bus into Glastonbury, regular services run along the A39 which is only about 6 to 10 minutes walk from the site and there is even a small garden centre close by. Overall I would highly recommend this quite CL site. If you don't mind putting on your walking shoes and/or getting on your bike there is no need to move the van! A large Morrisons is also in easy reach should you need to stock up.
Highly recommended
A well run site with views over Wells and Glastonbury Tor, as described. Large grass pitches with the minimum of levelling required. Very quiet and great for wildlife: we too spotted a hare and a pair of little owls. Owner welcoming and helpful. Entrance a tad tight for a caravan, but would highly recommend.

Remains a lovely and welcoming site.
This was our second visit to the site, the first being per-covid. The site remains very well cared for and very clean and tidy. We had the rustling tree pitch which gave us views over to Wells Cathedral in one direction and towards Glastonbury Tor in the other direction. The site is well used and was fully occupied on our first night with four units on the second night. It is very handy for all local sights. With my bat detector I picked up common pipistrelle and big brown bat in a quick ten minute survey. We will most certainly return here.
A peaceful site near Wells
We enjoyed a very relaxing break at Primrose Caravan Park. Everything was well organised, from arrival, to extending our stay, and then leaving. We enjoyed beautiful views over the surrounding countryside, with a clear view of Wells cathedral. We spotted hares, and a Little owl, during our stay.
Would highly recommend.
Lovely site, Nina was friendly and welcoming, shared her knowledge of the surrounding area. Large grass pitches, with great views. Would recommend.👍👍
Great little site
Nina was the perfect host. Gave us a very warm welcome and good information on the surrounding area. The site was very well presented. Hookup available, Elsan, grey waste and bins clean and easy to access. Wells is a beautiful small city steeped in history. Would recommend this site for visiting Wells and the surrounding area.
PEACEFUL AND WONDERFUL VIEWS
Stayed on Duck Pitch for three nights in June. Wonderful views down to Wells and across to Glastonbury Tor. Walk across fields into Wells (about 1/2 hour).
Lovely clean and tidy site with all amenities well laid out. Cows in field next to site and sheep next door, lots of wildlife to spot, saw owl, bats, hawk, and hare. Lovely site, would definitely recommend.
TICKED ALL THE BOXES
I reviewed this site favourably in May 2018. I am please to report it is just as nice now as before. I cannot understand why some reviewers have marked it down for peace & tranquility and beauty of surroundings and scenery. Both get 5 strong ticks from me. All that has changed is the price - £22.50 plus £10 for the access key fob which is returnable. This time we stayed in our new motorhome rather than our old caravan. It rained heavily overnight prior to departure but the grass drained well and we had no problem getting off the pitch. A 45 minute walk or 10 minute off-road cycle ride into Wells past a large Morrisons (Wells also has a Lidl, Tescos and Waitrose). We parked the motorhome at Morrisons and Tescos. Several nice walks from Wells including to Wookey Hole. Pleasant and easy cycle rides to the South including to Glastonbury.
Amazing Somerset Location
Nina and family were truly welcoming and the views from the pitches were wonderful in all directions. We had a wonderful weekend exploring Somerset and the city of Wells (walking distance of the site) was an unexpected delight. Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury were all within easy reach. We would still like to climb Glastonbury Tor, so will be returning to this peaceful spot in the Mendips sometime soon.
