Lovely Site

from Lee & Ann Cardwell (Lancashire) via Lodgify Jun 19 20185.0 Accepted Mr & Mrs We stayed at this lovely site at the beginning of June and on arrival we were met by Nina who gave us some of her delicious chocolate cake and a local map detailing the pleasant 30 minute walk in to the centre of Wells and a few suggestions on local eateries. We were on the Duck pitch which has great views down to Wells and it's magnificent cathedral, as do the two adjacent pitches and found the site very relaxing and in a excellent location for visiting nearby Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, Bath and Wells itself is literally 5 minutes in the car if you don't fancy the walk. We wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this site and would definitely stay again if we were in the area again. 6/2018 Dear Lee & Ann, Thank you so much for your kind review. We really appreciate you taking the time & trouble to compile the very positive feedback, thank you. Plus, we do hope that you do vist the area again and can come & stay with us. Excellent location

Stayed at Primrose Farm for 3 nights in July, a really well placed site, easy cycle to Wells and Glastonbury. Site owner Nina was very welcoming and helpful, especially her map of how to get to Wells. A little near the road, but very little traffic. Fabulous views of Wells and Glastonbury Tor. Would definitely stay again and recommend. Thanks Nina!!

Sunny May

A well maintained ½ acre of grass that runs alongside the Woodford Road with panoramic countryside views South across the road over the Somerset levels towards Glastonbury Tor and North across a field with cows in it toward Wells and the Mendips. The caravan route from the Garden Centre off the A39 to the site is fine. Access off the Woodford Road is through the owner’s electric security gate and past their house (called The Paddock) which overlooks the site. The entrance is a little tight so care needs to be taken with larger outfits. The owner made contact beforehand to find out what time we were arriving so the gate could be left open. On arrival we were given a remote control for the gate, tips and instructions on walking into Wells and some freshly baked ginger cake which was very nice. The site was in view of the road which is a few feet lower than the site and separated from it by a low hedge (lower than in the photos). When vehicles are not passing by it is blissfully quiet. The Maple Tree and Rustling Tree pitches are the closest to the road. The Rustling Tree and Ash Tree pitches benefit by having more space and trees beyond them. All pitches have plenty of sun including into the late afternoon and evening. Line of sight to a prominent mast above Wells ensures very good TV reception. The water and recycling arrangements are modern and well laid out. With care the local roads are quiet enough to cycle and walk along and, with a map and compass and suitable attire, there are some cross-country routes to explore on foot. In addition to its views, the highlight of this site is undoubtedly Wells, which is delightful and can be reached on foot. It is well catered for with supermarkets – Morrisons (incl. fuel), Tesco, Lidl and Waitrose. The area has plenty of other nice places to visit by car.

A perfect site

We had the pleasure of staying on this beautiful site for 3 nights with our 7mt motorhome this early May bank holiday (2018) If you are looking for stunning views, easy access to the beautiful city of Wells and close to a very good bus route then this site is perfect. We were welcomed with a generous slice of home made ginger cake (still warm) and were set up and enjoying the view across to Glastonbury Tor within 15 minutes. This beautiful site epitomises the reasons we love touring so thank you Nina and David for your very good hospitality, we shall return. Shaun & Angela Tew.

What an amazing find! - Stayed April 26 - 28 -2018

from Samantha Andrews (UK) via Lodgify May 06 20185.0 Accepted Stay April 26th - 28th Samantha Andrews reviewed Primrose Caravan Park – 5 star 1 May at 22:31 · What an amazing find! We decided we would like to visit historic Wells and couldn’t be happier with our choice of certified location - it was perfect with views of the Glastonbury Tor, the Mendip Hills and Wells. A lovely little footpath around 1.5 miles to walk in to Wells and Nina supplied us with a great map with some good recommendations of where to eat (can thoroughly recommend the pizza place) We loved the fantastic customer service provided by Nina, a really easy booking process, friendly efficient and professional - and we were even greeted with yummy homemade ginger cake, a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. The facilities were excellentwith water, electricity and a waste disposal area. We would really recommend this site and look forward to booking again the next time we visit the area. Thank you Nina 5/2018

WE LOVE IT!

Our second visit was just as good as the first and we confirm everything that has been said in the previous reviews. Nina is a perfect host and her chocolate cake on arrival was delicious. The site is well kept, very attractive and the facilities spotless. We again enjoyed the views down into Wells and occasional visits from the friendly cows and bulls. We only hope that when members see the deserved 5 star reviews there will be a space available for our next visit - as we shall certainly return! Doreen and Brian

The wonderful site that is Primrose Caravan Park, Launcherley !

This was our second visit to this gem of a site and it didn't disappoint. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and homemade carrot cake, very thoughtful and appreciated. The views of Wells and the countryside are stunning from whichever pitch is used; the site itself is spotless plus the peace and quiet make this one of our favourite CL sites. It was also so kind of Nina's husband who came to our aid with a jack to hoist up our "nose down" caravan (courtesy of a loose jockey wheel, lesson learnt...!), on our departure day. I'm certain we will be using this site again.

Wonderful place to stay

Arrived to a warm welcome with lots of information as to what there was to do and homemade delicious ginger muffins! We stayed on the Duck Pitch and were greeted not only by the owners but by our new neighbours the cows in the neighbouring field which provided amusement throughout the holiday. We had wonderful views over the city of Wells and surrounding countryside. Wells was easy to walk or cycle to (majority of way along quiet roads if cycling). It is central to numerous attractions with many National Trust Houses, the coast, Longleat Safari Park and other attractions all within easy reach. We enjoy cycling and cycled to Glastonbury Tor from the caravan site along nearby national cycle network route 3 and also enjoyed cycling along the Strawberry line. There is some really nice scenery along the route and it even passes through Thatchers Orchards. We would recommend making a small detour once in Sandford and follow signs to the Thatchers owned Railway Inn pub which sells all their ciders and is worth a trip back in the car to dine in their restaurant. All in all we had a very relaxing 2 week break with plenty to keep us occupied and would highly recommend staying here.
