Another hidden gem!

We stayed recently on this lovely farm site. Easy access and friendly welcome from Alison and Ashley. Beautiful views. Levelling blocks were needed but they provide each pitch with a selection so nothing to worry about. A drive to the next village of Denby Dale for trains to Barnsley, Leeds,Sheffield. Easy walk to a village pub which serves pies and pies. We shall return as a stopover further North.

Lovely small site in a great location.

Great little site with pleasant owners. Alison was very cheerful with us. Small problem gaining access, but we had a laugh about it. We only stayed for two nights due to a fridge problem, but would have stayed longer. Nice village with good pub selling good pies. Great views. Would definitely go again. Michael and Anne

Stayed here for one night. It is a gem of a site! Would highly recommend! Ashley and Alison were very friendly and welcoming and the site was very well cared for. Lovely views and a delight to listen to all the bird song in the evening. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Beautiful Site

Visited here May 2024 we were given a lovely welcome from Alison .This is a really tidy well kept site but we were disappointed that there wasn't a bus service within one mile as stated in the Caravan Club book we have a motor-home and rely on buses because of the difficulty parking in towns. We had to walk to Denby Dale approx one and a half mile to catch a bus. I would return as the walk was quite pleasant into Denby Dale across fields

Mature Couple

Excellent site. Easy access from the M1. Grass surface fine for the caravan even after all the rain this winter (car parked on hard standing). Lovely views. Very friendly and helpful owner. Lots to see and do in the area - will be great for walking later in the year.when the fields have dried. Sorry to have missed lambing by only a few days.

Wow!

What a find! This is an amazing CL. The owners were so helpful and friendly. Really made us feel at home. The views from the site were breathtaking and so were the walks. We were made to feel welcome at the local pub and the pie and peas were great. We will be returning! If you like walking, good pubs, and a warm welcome-this is the site for you.

Excellent first time out

This was our first night in our first caravan. Excellent site with easy access and lovely views. It's very quiet and tranquil, and the welcome and information from the owners was spot on.

Excellent stopover

Stopped at Holly Tree Cottage on our way to visit our daughter with our motorhome. Easy access to the CL. Greeted at the secure gate and shown to our pitch by the welcoming owners. Lovely quiet sheep farm location with good views. Would definitely stay again.

Owners helped us big time in our hour of need!

we had an issue with the van and the owners went the extra mile to help us. Much appreciated. Lots to do locally. We went to Experience Barnsley which is very well done and the Elsecar heritage village (with a guided tour - recommended). When we went to nearby places like Denby Dale for coffee we realised there were lots of interesting places right on the doorstep. Dunkirk Inn was really good (gastropub) and just down the road. (2/3rds mile but need to drive). Touch of Thai in High Flatts (about 1.5mile away) also delicious (but note no alcohol license so BYO!). We will be back!
