One of the best

We stayed at Hendrifton in July, originally we booked for 6 nights but ended up staying over 14. I can only echo what others have said about Suzanne and David, they are the kindest and most generous people you can hope to meet, they are always willing to stop for a chat or happy with just a nod if you are that way inclined. Very often when we are away I don't use cl's facilities as apparently I'm very fussy in that area! (OH's Comments) I happily used the facilities here, they were cleaned every day and the shower was superb with really hot water and as much as you like, no timer or extra money. There's a lovely walk from the site to Inkies, a café by a river, big helpings and delicious food not to mention the ice creams !! We also visited a little village at Lerryn which is at the end of a tidal creak where you can launch a Kayak this has a lovely little tea room and pub that serves good food. There is also a vegetarian café at Downderry which is worth a visit, lovely beach and a pub. There is so much on offer at Hendrifton, including free wifi all for £15. Thank you both very much. Suzanne my Rhubarb drink is nearly ready, I can't wait.

A 'secret'...but should be shared!

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Hendrifton Farm with some appalling weather it has to be said..however, we had such a lovely time thanks to the most kindest of welcomes from Suzanne and David, the place is lovely as described in previous reviews, location is great (whatever the weather!) with plenty to do. We enjoyed some lovely meals in the local pubs and also got to sample the Suzanne Scones which were delish! A great little paddock to walk/exercise the dogs in and stunning views from our caravan of the countryside, one of our nicest stays at a CL site.

Wonderful stay

What a lovely site. Large pitches very well kept and clean. Toilets and shower and electric hook up what a bargain. Marvellous views over fields and hills sheep and cows. Very peaceful with very welcoming hosts David and Suzanne. We stayed 16 nights and wish we could have stayed more ideal for visiting most of Cornwall north and south coasts and moors. Had free cream tea and garden produce as well which was very welcome. Will definitely be back to this piece if heaven. Large field with mown paths to walk the dog leading down to a lovely clear little stream which Sam really enjoyed as the weather was hot during our stay. David and Suzanne were so friendly and full of local information, dog friendly beaches etc which was very useful. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Glenda Tony and Sam

Fantastic site

We have just spent three weeks here. What a fantastic site! David and Suzanne really do go to great lengths to make you feel welcome on their site. The pitches are well spaced, no formal markings so position how you like. Suzanne bakes delicious scones and delivers them to your door with clotted cream and jam. She will give you salad and produce from her garden too. They make time to stop for a chat and are a mine of information about what's going on and what to see in the local area. There is even an information folder for each pitch, full of tourist information leaflets, guides for local walks and beaches. We really did have a fantastic time! Definitely a site to return too, thank you

Simply Superb!

We are just nearing the end of a wonderful two weeks stay here at Hendrifton Farm. Our title of this review “Simply Superb” really is an understatement, as we cannot express our thoughts and indeed compliments on this tremendous C.L highly enough. Suzanne and David who own the C.L are wonderfully warm and kind people, and are such lovely hosts, and their freindly dogs Bob and Reka are simply great!!. Both David and Suzanne make you so very welcome in every respect and it is massively apparent that they love having you with them, and as such, they spare nothing to ensure that your holiday is both enjoyable very special.......It really is “home from home”. Suzanne makes wonderful scones and “splits” all accompanied by local clotted cream and jam. Her home grown produce make a wonderful accompaniment at dinner, (Suzanne’s rocket salad is delicious!) Hendrifton is ideally situated in as much it is well within striking distance of all the principal places of interest across the county of Cornwall. The setting is just beautiful. As well as excellent shower and toilet facilities at Hendrifton, there is a lovely meadow in which David and Suzanne have formed a great walkway for exercising your four legged friends! This meadow leads down to a little stream, ( the River Fowey in its infancy stages I think), which is simply crystal clear along the banks of which one can take a very pleasant and shaded walk on a hot day. The walk up to and around near by Siblyback Lake is lovely! In summary, Suzanne and David should be really proud of what they have accomplished here at Hendrifton Farm,..... it is a major achievement for them both... so very well done and our most grateful thanks to you both. All being well, we will be back in 2021 for a longer stay. Tim and Jill Cramp, (and Syd, the grumpy terrier!)

Ten out of Ten - one of the best

From the time I spoke to Suzanne on the phone to book we have been impressed. We were given some ideas of places to see on our journey to the CL and on arrival we were given a warm welcome by Suzanne and David. What lovely people. Great information provided about the surrounding area with a pitch specific information pack. The site is so well placed for walking, cycling and access to the lovely Bodmin Moor and all that it offers. It is situated in a very quiet area surrounded by fields and lovely views. A short walk to Golitha falls and onto a walk round the lake. A bonus to have toilets and shower (free) provided. We were here for only three nights but will definitely be back when we are next in the area.

Excellent

I always use CL's and have visited many, this site rates as one of the very best. The hosts have perfected the right amount of contact, they welcome you and are always on hand if you need them or just to chat bit if you want to be left alone then you are, when leaving despite pouring rain they are there to say goodbye and wish you a safe journey. You are provided with a comprehensive visitor pack, the site and all facilities are kept spotless, they are rightly proud of their site but ask if you have any suggestions for improvements. Good walking from the site although you are warned that some parts can be a little muddy. Would have no hesitation in returning.

HEAVENLY CL

What a superb CL - just heavenly; spent a relaxing 2 weeks holidaying here. Wish we'd had 3 weeks! It's so quiet and peaceful. The owners are SO friendly and helpful and have 2 friendly dogs and the DOG WALK meadow is adjacent to the CL field. Lawned strips for walking around the meadow are such a dog-friendly touch! There's a separate ladies and gent's loo with a smashing FREE shower!! Stays for longer than 10 days are treated to a wonderful homemade Cornish Cream Tea - so yummy. Superb views from the site across fields and fun to watch the cattle in nearby field to one side, then sheep and alpacas up the hill another side. There's a stream at the end of the meadow and a lovely walk (about 1m) to Golitha Falls - map supplied by Suzanne & David. This is a lovely walk (and climb at times if you so wish) in the cooling woods, where dogs jumped into the water retrieving balls; ending at a coffee shop and local-produce farm store selling fresh fruit, veg and sausages etc - great on the bbq with that evening's fantastic sunset. Siblyback Lake is about a mile walk further along the lane, then about 3miles around the lake, over the dam; a cafe caters for hungry walkers. This CL is IDEALLY placed for both north and south Cornwall. Each pitch is supplied with a detailed folder of maps, places to visit, walks, pubs etc. The famous Cheesewring (stacked stones) are a short drive further along Bodmin Moor and a breath-taking walk (and climb) to the stones provides stunning views for miles and miles. YOU just HAVE to visit and see for yourself and maybe we'll see you next year when we return. THANK YOU Suzanne and David for a wonderful holiday. Caroline, Jon and Tiya (our friendly spaniel)

A gem of a CL probably the best we've ever stayed on.

Just returned from a 9 night stay here. Set remotely on Bodmin Moor but easy to access and with easy access to Liskeard and other facilities. A fantastic location, with spectacular views, the field on the opposite hillside has cattle sheep and alpacas.Look in another direction and you can see all the way to St Austell. Suzanne and David keep the site looking very sharp indeed. Some eating houses and watering holes of particular note eg The Crows Nest worth a visit after you've climbed the Cheesewrings. We were dog sitting fore our son and had a very lively German Short Haired Pointer puppy. He and had great fun racing around the adjacent field with Bob and Reka the resident dogs. Last Thursday we had friends visit and Suzanne turned up with scones strawberry jam and clotted cream, you don't get that elsewhere. Can't recommend highly enough.

Best CL we've ever stayed in - by a mile!

Long before we even arrived we felt we were friends with Suzanne and David. They handled the booking process superbly, and provided all the information we needed to help us plan our journey - to their site, and onwards towards the next. We stayed seven nights - wish it could have been seventy! We were given a very warm welcome when we arrived. The information folders, one per pitch, were excellent (they're raising the bar for other sites with that touch!) The site is extremely well maintained - grass very neat and excellent gravel driveways - it looks wonderful. The toilet/shower block is great - one loo for gents, and one for ladies - and the shower room is spacious - large cubicle with a door that fully seals (dressing area stays dry, unlike most club sites!). Water flow is good and very consistent, likewise the water temperature. Again, this is all very clean. Suzanne and David shared some of their garden produce with us - nothing like fresh rocket and spinach, and in copious quantities too. Their recommended farm shop, just the other side of St Cleer, is good (great artisan bread). Lots of options for walking locally. Minions and surrounding heritage sites are close by - well worth a visit. This a great base for touring eastern Cornwall. Thank you Suzanne and David for making us so welcome - please give Bob and Reka a cuddle from us!
