Absolutely loved it!

Stayed here for 10 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.  Lovely peaceful site, good views of the loch and wonderful to watch the incoming/outgoing greylag geese.  Good sized pitches, clearly marked as the grass on the pitches is beautifully kept and surrounded by wildlife sanctuaries of longer grass.  Henry, the owner, could not be more helpful.  A beautiful spot and it felt a real privilege to be able to share it.

Absolutely Stunning

We stayed at Greenloch House for 4 nights and what a find! The site is beautifully kept with your own grass bay surrounded by meadow and the Loch. Very warm welcome from Henry and great for the dog. A superb location for visiting Mull of Galloway, Port Patrick and Lady Bay with afternoon tea at Corsewall Lighthouse. There is no issue with access we did meet a car on the road in but it passed us with no problem. Highly recommended.  In fact like us both of our neighbours said best CL they have ever been on and wished they were staying longer! Says it all!

Picturesque perfection

What a beautiful and well kept site. Clearly marked large pitches all with views of the Loch and well away from any traffic noise.  Access is a little narrow and pray you don't meet a caravan leaving! Only had a couple of nights here on way to Ireland but wished we had had longer.  A bit out on a limb but perfect to sit and relax

beautiful cl

stayed for 3 nights and what a site, owners very friendly, beautiful scenery. just wished I could have stayed longer but site was fully booked and I can understand why. I think all 5 caravans have a view of the loch. my caravan is 27.4 and had no problem getting in but the gateway might be tight for some of the European 2.5m caravans but check with owner. superb site if you want peace with a view.

What a fantastic haven!

Just had a one week stay at Greenloch house. If you want peace and quiet in fantastic surroundings then this is the CL for you.The photos on the website do not do it justice. The scenery and the surrounding views are superb with plenty of wildlife to enjoy including the family chickens who will give you a great welcome when you arrive although you will not need an alarm clock with the family cockeral!.The family who own the CL are very welcoming and helpful and will advise you on the best places to visit etc. We had a few days rain but nothing to dampen our visit or our enjoyment of the area.Stranraer is within easy reach(around 3 miles) with plenty of shops and a Morrisons supermarket for your shopping needs. Altogether a superb CL which we will definiately visit again!!!1 Thankyou to Henry and family for a great stay in a beautiful area.

would be great in summer, not so in wet months.

This site would be great in summer, Unfortunately we visited in October when the owners were away. Although we were greeted warmly we were told not to use the site as it was to wet and boggy (would have been great to be told before travelling hundreds of miles towing the van) We were kindly placed onto the owners drive but with 2 vans only 1 could be hooked up to electricity. The scenery is absolutely fantasic and if tranquility is what your after then this is the place, Just go in summer.

Worth a visit

Very good site, one of the best we have stayed on. Well laid out with marked pitches with rough areas between them. The entry to house is tight as is the second entry the pitches. The toilet is ok but could be cleaner and the hot and cold is either washing or washing up. This is the only site where the owner has been out all day then called on us to make sure all ok with us. Brilliant.

Beautiful Place

What a lovely site! One of the nicest we have ever stayed on. We were greeted by a proud hen with five fluffy chicks. She sat with the chicks under her and watched our proceedings getting the caravan bedded in. The views over the loch were stunning with some glorious sunsets to be seen - eventually. We would definitely go back!

A Haven not to be missed

Greenloch House was the perfect stopover for us on our way back to Northern Ireland via the Cairnryan Ferry. Although we only stayed for one night, this site and its location would make a great base for a longer stay.

This is a real gem of a site and if we lived in Scotland we would be regulars here.

The history of this site is very interesting. Greenloch House (a former manse) is a listed building built on the site of Soulseat Abbey. The grounds are beautiful and contain several 16th century gravestones.

The owners were not at home when we arrived but there was a notice advising us to choose a pitch (hence only 3 ticks for ease of arrival/welcome). We met Nicola the owner later on in the day and found her to be particularly pleasant.

The well-spaced pitches are mowed out of what can only be described as a meadow (incidentally, the former name of Greenloch House was Meadowsweet, probably after the herb which can be found there).

Greenloch House is situated on a promontory and whilst sitting in the caravan gave us the impression of being on an island. We enjoyed great views over Soulseat Loch.

Each pitch had access to electric and its own table and chairs. There is a toilet in an outhouse but no shower.

There had been constant rain before and during our stay which made the slight ascent back up and out to the gate a challenge as it was muddy and slippery. We managed after a long run up and two attempts.

On a final note, this is a lovely site and we would thoroughly recommend it, though you too may encounter the huge swarms of large non-biting flies which greeted us with enthusiasm on arrival and returned again with much gusto on departure to see us off. Smile
