Beautiful setting

only had an overnight stop as travelling to Cairnryan port, but the view from the pitches are breathtaking. Pitches are big but not flat. Will definitely be visiting again for a longer stay.

Tranquil serenity

Spacious individual pitches, with views over the loch, sunsets to die for. Lovely host, Henry, just to make you welcome, once pitched, and the odd walk by to ensure everything is okay. Quiet and tranquil, nearby garage/store, with Stranraer only 10 minutes away, with usual outlets. Handy for ferries to NI, foot passagers only a few quid, with bus pass into Belfast. Ideal location for exploring nearby coastal locations, Highlands or stay and enjoy the views. Highly recommended.

Wow!

An outstanding CL. The pitches and surrounding garden are immaculate and the owners are very welcoming. A sloping site in an idyllic setting with mown pitches that require minimal levelling, with good fresh and waste water facilities, plus segregated recycling. For more information visit the owners' website. (https://www.greenloch.co.uk) No mention there however of the historical context: According to the National Library of Scotland and Wikipedia, the house was originally a Manse and within the grounds are the remains of a Cistercian monastery founded in the 12th century by St Malachy. We're definitely going back.

One of the Best in Scotland

Spent just two nights at this beautiful site, I can honestly say the best two night stay that we have ever had. The previous reviews really leave me little to add. Peace and tranquility, beautiful setting, spacious well prepared sites, dog walk, toilet immaculate, grass cut to perfection, owner a delight to speak with and only too willing to help if required. Just the best and look forward to returning for a week long stay. Fabulous site. Credit to the owner.

Cannot praise highly enough!

You know how people talk about bucket lists? Well this should be on them all. Spent one of my best holidays in this beautiful spot, large pitches, gorgeous grounds, wonderful loch although did not catch any of the salmon or trout but the hot weather may have accounted for this. Spotless toilet although on site shower would be good. Situated in a quiet location but within good distance of all that is best in nearby towns and little villages along the coastline. You can even take a day trip to Belfast from the port of Cairnryan. And.......... if that is not enough for history buffs like me, found out from the owner that Greenloch House was built 1838 as a manse and on the site of Soulseat Abbey and is a site of historic interest. I will leave the reader to find out more about what lies in the garden area where the chickens are kept and you will not be disappointed. Cannot wait to return. Very highly recommended.

Wonderful site. One of the best we have stayed at.

Others have written in praise so there is little I can add to what has not already been written. Simply put, the site is wonderful and a great credit to both the club and the owners. The pitches are huge (I've stayed at sites that were not much bigger than our pitch) and superbly laid out for maximum privacy and stunning views. I loved the little touches, A beautifully handwritten sign with my name hung on a post by our pitch. For those of nervous disposition, the roads leading to the site are tight and single track and the site entrance is also tight but nothing that can't be managed with a little care. My Motorhome is fairly large and I managed easily enough. Just take your time and use your mirrors. The whole site is beautifully managed and kept with a wonderful balance of manicured areas and wild edges. Very peaceful but you will be woken early to the sounds of nature. In May when we visited, the whole area was alive with birdsong starting before 04.00 and joined by swans and ducks calling from the loch. Wonderful! What a way to start a day. Our dog also loved it, particularly swimming in the loch to cool off. Super friendly owners and groundskeeper (Davy). No showers but that did not detract. Single toilet but clean and since there were a limited number of pitches, never busy. A truly great site. We will definitely be back. Thank you Nicola. PS Buy the eggs, see how many huge double yolkers you find.

Peaceful and Relaxing

Spent 5 days at the site in June. What a find! So peaceful with lovely views. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The pitches are large and overlook the water and grass on the pitches was cut very short with the wilder areas, trees and shrubs creating a great feel. No traffic noise and the site provided the rest and relaxation we needed. Lots of places to visit locally and fresh eggs available from the owners' chickens. We will certainly put this high on our list of sites to return to in the future. Wifi and phone signal was pretty non existent but that didn't bother us, in fact it was good not to be bothered by the outside world. Agree with previous poster that a small sign would be helpful in finding the site.

Tranquil site

One of the Clubs nicest CL sites , spacious pitches overlooking a small loch. Very narrow lane to get to the site with a large van,it would be helpful if CMC sign was placed on the entrance to the lane leading to the site as postcode leaves you short of site. Handy site for ferry terminal. Would be a good base for longer stay too.
