Beautiful, tranquil site.

This is a beautiful, tranquil site which I am a little reluctant to review and encourage more people to come to this perfect location. The site is neat & tidy with stunning views over Mounts Bay and St Michael’s Mount. The site owners are very helpful and friendly whilst being very unobtrusive. You will probably need levelling blocks but we have borrowed them from Peter in past years. We have just left after two fabulous weeks in the sun. Although the weather was very hot there was a pleasant breeze overnight which cooled the site down. Penzance & Ives are very easily accessed by car although the latter is extremely busy (park at the rugby club, £7 for the day) Penzance has lots of shops & 3 big supermarkets for provisions. There are also buses which stop outside the site and go to Penzance or St Ives. Don’t forget to get an ice cream from Jelbert’s in Newlyn. Green Pig Farm is a good location for visiting the area. Very relaxing and peaceful. Can’t wait to return for our 4th consecutive year in 2023.

Pricing

Everything that is said about the site is true Except the pricing. It is not £19 but£24.50 a night. Along with the caravan club prices we feel caravaning is now getting rather expensive. After all we are taking our own accommodation.

Holiday 2022

What can we say, 10 days of mostly lovely weather with only one afternoon of heavy rain. As others have said, the pictures say it all as the views from your outfit are to die for. Shopping in Penzance is ok with Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons all having large superstores. The town of Penzance is worth a stroll if you like traditional shops especially, bakers of which there are a lot. Whilst staying, we took the helicopter to Tresco but if you intend going, take my advice and book early as bookings go very quickly (only 12 seats on each flight). Currently (June 2022) the price to park all day at the heliport is £7 in a secure compound. The site is perfect for those who wish to check out where Poldark was filmed, as a lot of the locations are within easy reach. For bathing, Penzance has an open air lido or of course there are loads of beaches within a short distance. Do not try and park in St Ives. Either drive to St Erth Park and take the train, or catch the bus from outside of the Farm. Chatting to others on the CL, it seems as if they return very frequently. Friendly owners who do not intrude but are there if you need advice. You will need levelling blocks and a storm strap if using an awning in high winds as the site is a bit exposed but I'll take that for the views alone.

Astounding place

Just look at those photos - what you see is what you get! We had a very warm welcome - with ots of advice - as though we were the only people who mattered. The best advice was to take the bus, which is hourly in both directions - to Penzance and to St Ives, just a few minutes for each journey. Don't even think about taking your outfit into St Ives! Amenities (no toilet block) are fine, but don't forget levelling blocks for most positions on the site. Great five days exploring West Penwith!

Very special place

We were here for just over two weeks in mid September. The site and services are immaculate and the views are awesome. We were so glad to be back after missing our 2020 holiday here. The weather was mostly good considering the time of year but whatever the weather it is a great place to be. As usual, the warm and friendly welcome is a lovely start to the holiday. Thank you all at Green Pig Farm, look forward to visiting again,

Fantastic CL

Thank you for such a warm welcome to your lovely CL. We thoroughly enjoyed our week with you and were even blessed with good weather! The site is first rate and the view unbeatable. Very well situated for visiting St Ives and Penzance, St Michael's Mount and the Minack at Porthcurnow. Would have no hesitation in booking again if we return to the area. Thoroughly recommended.

Another great 2 weeks here

Our second 2 week holiday at this excellent site Well kept grass site with stunning views over St Michael’s Mount and the bay Penzance to St Ives bus has a request stop outside the gate Large pitches on a slightly sloping grass well drained site Peter and Neil were excellent hosts with a good knowledge of the area Mizzle can drift up from the sea but on those days go to the north coast which is then usually in the sun

Lovely late September stay 2020

A lovely site, well managed and maintained with a cracking view across to St Michael's mount 6 minute drive to Penzance, would certainly stay again . Jut a coupe of comments , due to present covid situation a sanitize station at the gate when entering and leaving would have been appreciated ..also only two standard dustbins supplied with out any recycling, so over the 5-6 days we stayed the bins were always full.... Wonderful dog walking area, but no separate dog bin, which felt a bit odd, didn't know or wanted to leave dog waste in the dustbins ! ..

Best view from a CL

Stayed here for a week in august 2020, it's a cra king little site, the views over Marazion and St Micheals mount are stunning ...we had a lovely welcome from the owner and his dad ...his dad guided us the the correct gate and his son welcomed is and told us facts about the surrounding area ..... It really is a clean and well thought out site the van have loads of space next to beautiful blue hydrangea bushes leaving a large field in which to play or relax in ...there is a field next door if you want to exercise your dog too Had a problem with our electrics one night and he stopped his tea to come out and help us and lent us his EHU Highly recommended for travelling into St. Ives or Penzance and a lovely walk down to the white hart pub in Ludgvan is a must ...try the steak and ale pie...its to die for
