2 day break

arrived on saturday to the warm welcome on the entrance board fantastic views and very friendly wardens. unfortunately the weather was not too good shame we could not get on the pitch till 12:30 as the rain soon arrived thereafter. Went for a short walk around the village and yes two local pubs which you can walk too but very disappointed with the cleanliness and decor in both!!!! Lovely lakes and lots of information available on site pity there was no map on the immediate area - walked completly in the wrong direction to the shop when we could have taken a short cut- down to the lake over the bridge and follow the footpath into the village turn left and follow road - would not have been so bad but it was pouring with rain!!! Sampled the homemade marmalade very very good!!!

A lovely little site

A well kept site with immaculately clean facilities. Even though the weekend we stayed was cold and wet the facilities were lovely and warm, with an additional warm ait heater on the wall in the shower room. Awasher and tumble dryer is available for longer stays. Also in the laundry room is a very well stocked and up o date information area. More professionally presented than a lot of tourist information centres we've seen. The hardstanding pitches stand high on the field with lovely views. A welcome board directed us to our pitch and the owners ( and their dogs!) were friendly and welcoming. Big site facilities with small site tranquility. If I was going to be really nit picky the on,y slight negative was having to park our car in front of the caravan window obscuring he lovely view somewhat, as the hardstanding pitches will not accomodate a car alongside a caravan. We'll definitely be back!

Barn Owls and beautiful views

This was our first visit to the Lincolnshire Wolds and Grange Farm. Having read the various reviews regarding the excellence of this CL our expectations were high and we were not disappointed. On arrival we were greeted with a Welcome board directing us to our pitch. The area surrounding the pitches is immaculate with well-kept grass areas and lovely sheltering hedges around the whole of the site. The passion Tim and Diane have for this venture is clear to see with everything they do. They walked past the pitches each afternoon to ensure that all was well and were very helpful with local knowledge. There is a good space between each of the pitches and the waste disposal, recycling and water point are clean, accessible and well lit at night. The ladies and gents toilets and the shower were always immaculate and warm with additional heating if required. We did not use the facility but in a building behind the shower block was a combined laundry area complete with washing machine, tumble dryer together with shelves holding videos, books and games. The real delight for those who do not know the area was the tourist section. This was very professionally set out with a whole series of walks over the Wolds area some of which could be taken directly from the site and leaflets on many different aspects of the culture and history of the area. It is not an exaggeration to say that some Tourist Offices we have visited would be put to shame! There are two pubs in Tetford as well as a general shop and tea room. We did not have time to try these out but did have a really good meal at the Blue Bell Inn in nearby Belchford. This was picked from the Good Pub Guide and not only is the food excellent with friendly attentive staff but the range of beers on offer was of a high standard – quite the nicest pint of Black Sheep outside Yorkshire. We had not realised how much this part of the country has to offer and we will be back as quickly as we can to spend more time visiting the surrounding countryside and enjoying waking up each morning at Grange Farm. The Barn Owl in the title spent many an evening quartering the ground immediately in front of our caravan and we are also told that there is every opportunity of seeing kingfishers around the two beautiful lakes on the other side of the hedge from the site.

great place

Just arrived back from this site after being there for two weeks. This is a great site. The owners Tim & Diane have worked very hard in such a short space of time to make this site a wonderful place for it's visitors. There are good views from every pitch. The shower and toilet facilities are always immaculate. There are good walks straight from your caravan door to wonderful countryside, which our dog Daisie enjoyed very much. There are holiday cottages for non caravanning friends or relatives. Two fishing lakes are at the bottom of the field well stocked. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday then this is the place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. We have booked again this year and next.

Brilliant CL

We have just come back from staying a week with Tim & Diane, who are working really hard to run an excellent CL. You get Caravan Club Site facilities with all the homeliness of a small CL. We can honestly say that this is one of the very best CLs we have stayed on over the last 30 years. Wonderful views, great countryside, quiet, spotless loos & shower - even wifi - what more could you ask for?
