A great place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay. It's within walking distance of Fowey which suited us so we could leave our camper van on site. The town bus drops you off outside for the return if you need it. The site is clean and tidy and very peaceful. We found our hosts helpful and friendly which always adds to the holiday. This really is a little gem and we shall return. Great CL.

A great place to go

Good instructions to find site and a warm welcome. Lovely surroundings and facilities for water, power and satellite hook up. Approx 20 min walk into Fowey with a collection of shops, pubs and good eateries. Ferries to Polroun and bus to Looe made a good day out and also ferry to Mevagissy with visit to hidden gardens - dolphin accompaniment on return journey. Good access to coastal walks which give stunning views over the harbour and estuary. It is about 4 miles to Par Market on a Wednesday (not sure if it is open other days) and about 7 miles to Tesco, Asda and Aldi in St Austell David and Sarah worked hard looking after the site, large chipping but level hard standing. Pleasant enough to spend a couple of days without leaving the pitch. We have no hesitation in recommending this site and hope we get the opportunity to return although it is a long drive from North Derbyshire but well worth it.

Not For Us

Must say weather wasn't the kindest but that did not alter our feelings. Very close to Fowey but at certain times of the day the road was quite dangerous - narrow, dark and windy with no footpaths and heavy traffic. Wi-Fi a true bonus. Individual water taps - note you need a 20m pipe to reach your van or as on our pitch you would have to climb a very steep bank. TV very poor, you can loan a satellite box but still very limited. The whole site is surrounded by tall trees and we felt hemmed in and there was a very musty smell. Extremely coarse hard standing that seriously hurt underfoot, at times. We would have left early but had paid quite a hefty deposit. Each to his own

A delightful site

What a beautiful site. Amazing facilities for a Cl. and in such a picturesque area. Walks around this site are amazing, with very pleasant and helpful owners our 2 week stay was A1. Would thoroughly recommend this site. An extremely good bus service is also available on walking into Fowey. This site is one of my favourites which we could quite happily come back to time after time..

Two words - Go there!

What a lovely site this is. If you like bird song and woodlands then this is for you. One of the best CL's we have stayed at. Thanks to David and Sarah for running a superb site. Walk into Fowey, it's about a mile along the road, no pavement until you get nearer the resort but ok if you take it easy. There is a shorter route (but be warned it is hilly) that David will tell you about. This site is the nearest to Fowey, so you can pop in for the evening if you wish. Motorhomers can get a cab back for a minimal price. TV we found a bit non existent, but who wants it anyhow with surrounding like this? Go in spring time and the lanes are full of wild garlic and bluebells. Wonderful. Follow the route given and not the SAT NAV and no problems at all.

Secluded peaceful site ideal for coastal walks and town

We spent a couple of nights here in early November. One of the best CLs we have stayed in. It has everything you need, not only for entertainment being a short walk to town but also to the headland and further on to eat at Polkerris. The site is quiet and the surrounding trees adds to its tranquility and beauty. Recommended.

A very very good all year round CL

Just spent a very nice weekend at Fowey CL we were met by Sarah just after we arrived which was a surprise given that it was dark and the drizzle was coming in, Sarah gave us a friendly and helpful welcome also made us aware of the site facilities. The site perfect if setting out in your motor home or caravan during the winter it is well set out with a hardstanding track leading to four hard standing bays along the top of the site and another hardstanding pitch stepped just below, all pitches include connections to a sat TV line along with a fresh water connection.   The free wifi also worked without any problems spot on for planning where to visit, Fowey CL also has a well stocked range of tourist information leaflets if your not into the internet for searching out places to visit. We were able to find the CL without any issues Fowey CL also has a detailed web site that provides all you need to know about the site and area. The caravan club map is a little adrift the actual entrance location is GPS  50.341578, -4.648150 a point to be aware of as it's not a good idea to overshoot the entrance of Fowey CL as the road becomes narrow quite quickly and turning would be a problem. Turning out when making the left turn into the CL is to be remembered as you need to line up your outfit in order to clear the gate posts, take a look at Google street view to avoid a surprise, being aware and you will be fine and find no problems at all, it's a very quite road.

Excellent

Nestled amongst a wooded clearing, this is a well laid out site, peaceful yet within an easy stroll along the road to Fowey, beware though sharing a road with vehicles anywhere requires care. The owners have put alot of effort into the site with further improvements in progress evident. A friendly welcome and later in ge evening a knock on the door from the owner to be sure everything was ok! Very impressed! Water and electric on every pitch and chem toilet disposal very convenient!

A tranquil setting

We have now visited this lovely CL twice, once in February and later in October. On both occasions the site was well kept , clean and the owners a delight to talk too. The location is perfect for accessing a large area particularly if you use the short hop across the river Fowey on the Bodinnick ferry to travel further. We have two whippets and there are plenty of large open spaces with the beach included to exercise them on a short drive away. We strongly recommend you pay this site a visit, particularly off peak as Fowey is a very popular and busy tourist attraction - You won't be disappointed.

Goop place to stay

David and Sarah offer a very warm welcome to their CL and their website is also very helpful with local information, walks, etc. The site is 20 minutes walk from the centre of Fowey (although part of this is along a narrow lane) and thus it is well situated. The CL is relatively new and has been well set up. It is quite shady which may suit some although not sunlovers! Each pitch has its own water supply and the Wi-Fi is a great asset. It is open all year and the hardstandings would make it very usuable in poor weather. The hardstandings are made with rather large stones, though, which make it a little uncomfortable around the pitch - topping up with finer stone would be a good improvement. Overall, we recommend this Cl as a good centre from which to visit Fowey and surrounding area.
