Fowey Campsite

Intimate site with just 5 pitches. Mine had its own power and water which was great. Basic facilities but a nice peaceful site with good access into Fowey. Loved the free WiFi. The wardens were hard to contact on arrival.

lovely holiday

we arrived at this peacefull and tranquil site on the 16/6/2018 for 12 nights.it is within easy walking distance of Fowey although care is needed because of the narrowness of parts of the road. the site itself is well laid out,and having paid £16 for water in and out of the caravan,electrics,satelite tv,and tremendous Wi-Fi reception,it was extremely good value.finally I would like to say thank you to David and Sarah for allowing us access at 09-30 to our pitch after contacting us.Its a real gem of a site.

Perfect Pitch

We had booked the Fowey CL Site for 16 nights during April. We did so because, like many other people, we own a modern caravan and only needed electricity, water etc. Because we had not been to a CL Site before we were not exactly sure of what we had let ourselves in for so as we drew closer to the site our anxiety levels were high. On arrival and with the engine stopped we immediately noticed the quiet of our new surroundings disturbed only by the sound of birdsong and a gentle breeze. Our name clearly written on a sign assigned to a pitch was a clear note of welcome. Indeed as we were pitching, the owner of the site arrived and introduced herself. She was really helpful and friendly enabling us to settle in very quickly. We were amazed by the free wi-fi which could be used on a number of pieces of hardware as well as the plumbed in water, negating the use of a water barrel. The hard standing was level and gave room for our caravan and a 2.5metre awning. The big rubber mat, which was on every pitch, turned out to be really useful for the removal of boots etc. From this fantastic location we enjoyed many walks and visited a good number of gardens and National Trust properties. No need for a car to visit Fowey which is one of the most beautiful little fishing villages we have come across. We recommend this Site and this area to anyone looking for a peaceful yet busy holiday and at the price of the pitch, you can’t go wrong. Thankyou Sarah and David.

Hidden gem

We have used this CL over the last couple of years. Good size and level pitches. Conveniently positioned hook ups and water. Very practical large rubber door mats provided on every pitch. Very friendly and helpful owners, excellent booking service. Location is good for visiting Fowey and some of the finest walking for fairly keen walkers, in Cornwall. Nice and quiet minimal traffic noise. Ideal for out of season visits.

Excellent site for a snowy March stay!

Stayed one night on a snowy day in March. Excellent hardstanding pitches. We could not reach electric point with our moderately long cable but the owner went out of her way to lend us a longer lead for the night so we could get connected. Wifi worked well. Walking distance to lovely Fowey town. We stayed here whilst visiting Eden project-where the biomes were a good choice in sub zero outside temperatures!!

Quick weekend in Cornwall

We are fairly new to Motorhoming and were delighted to find this beautiful site offering hard standings. All services at hand and site very handy for the Eden project and Lanhydrock house. David and Sarah have obviously spent a lot of time and effort in providing such an ideal site. We stayed for two nights on plot 1 and loved the dawn chorus each morning. Thank you to David and Sarah and we look forward to staying with you again in the near future. Linda and Brian Geary

Great CL

Just back from second long weekend here and can thoroughly recommend this CL. I am reluctant to sing its praises too much as it is already full most of the time due to the efforts of David & Sarah to make any stay as good as possible and I was tempted to keep quiet and keep it to myself! In short it is a nicely thought out site run by two friendly and hard working owners with everything a self contained motorhome needs in a beautiful location with superb walks in the area. So if you are looking for a peaceful break in a very scenic location with lots of outdoor pursuits nearby then this is the place for you.

A Lovely Holiday

We stay here for the first 2 weeks of July but have been unable to leave a review due to technical issues just resolved with the club. What can I say I wish we could keep this a secret as we probably will have problems re booking. We have never stayed on a site that we could walk to the local amenities and being able to do that made this holiday, as Fowey is a beautiful place. The site was easy to get to the information on the owners site was fantastic. Although surrounded by trees we always managed to sit in the sun, just had to move the chairs. The owners were very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. An ideal spot and we had a Lovely Holiday.

Beautiful setting

What a lovely tranquil setting, set among the trees dappled sunlight on some pitches but not dark with the squirrels coming and going around the trees. David and Sarah are extremely pleasant hosts with information and practical help. Close to Fowey with eateries, boating and the famous Cornish pasties. Would not hesitate to recommend a really relaxing cl. Thanks once again Sarah and David.

Outstanding site

We stayed at Fowey CL at the end of July 2017. It is one of the nicest sites we have stayed on, and hope to return for another visit next year. David and Sarah were very friendly and helpful, even going as far as lending me their spare hookup cable until I could purchase one when I realised that I had left mine at home. The site itself is very sheltered from the wind, but still seems to get plenty of sunlight to pitches 2, 3 and 4. Pitches 1 and 5 are in shade for most of the day. Waste disposal is convenient without being too close to the pitches, and there is plenty of tourist info in a cupboard next to the bin area. The walk to and from Fowey is as described in the site listing. The roads are narrow with lots of bends and you need to take care, particularly if you have young children with you. I can't recommend this CL highly enough if you like peace and quiet.
