Quality CL

We completely endorse all the positive comments from previous reviewers. This is an immaculate CL which is a credit to the owners. The gardens and grounds are absolutely delightful. It is an awesome place to see the sky at night as so dark, so wonderful star spotting. There is a pleasant aspect over the far end of the site looking across a disused railway with pretty road bridge over it, hillside and trees. From reading the information of the site prior to arrival we thought access to Much Wenlock by foot/cycle was easy, and it maybe be considered so by some. Our opinion is that is it fine, but a bit challenging. By foot, as directed by Brian, it was a 2.7 mile walk with some steep hilly sections and not easy under foot. There had been a lot of rain so it was proper muddy in sections - definitely welly walk. It was a very pleasant walk but not one to nip into town for a drink or evening meal type walk. Unfortunately we did not find the road route into Much Wenlock much more inviting to try cycling. It is a B class road and can get busy with quite fast cars as well as big lorries. We are motorhomers, and prefer to pitch up and then access places by foot/cycle. It is doable from this site but needs a bit of effort which is fine if you are up for it. For caravaners with cars - excellent location. Our comments do not mean that this not a CL we would highly recommend as it is.

Lovely site.

I stayed here early December for a week to visit family & friends in Shropshire. Brian is so welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Immaculate site with electric and water to each pitch. Peaceful and ideally situated for me. Many thanks.

Immaculate CL

We stayed for a week over Christmas and received a friendly welcome from Brian and Alison. Lovely quiet site with serviced, spacious pitches, immaculately maintained and located in a beautiful part of the country. The metered electricity is charged at cost which keeps the basic fee very reasonable. Nice walking from the site, although unsurprisingly very muddy when we were there given the weather! Convenient for Much Wenlock (with a fantastic pie shop), Ironbridge, Bridgenorth and National Trust properties. A site to return to!

Perfect CL for peace and quiet

We just arrived home after a 6 day stay on this lovely CL. They have fully serviced gravel pitches, and the site is just lovely and tranquil. We only met Brian, but he was so nice and helpfully advised of dog walking directly from the site. This is approximately 3.5 miles across tracks and fields (you will need your wellies after rain). There are some lovely National Trust places for dog walking too, and lots of places to visit. We will definitely be back. A perfectly quiet getaway.

Such an honest owner

I endorse all the positive things said about this site. It is a gem, but I particularly wanted to commend the honesty of the owner. We became ill with Norovirus the day before we were supposed to go but didn't want to put off our holiday a day longer than we needed to, so we asked Brian to hold the booking for us and said we would pay for our unused nights when we arrived. In the event it took longer to recover than we realised and it was six nights later that we actually arrived. Brian only charged us for one of those unused nights as he had turned someone away that night. The rest he said the pitch was not needed. We felt this was extremely generous as he could have just taken the money. A very fair owner of a delightful site.

Perfect CL

Very friendly greeting , my first impression was how tidy and well kept the site is ,grass is short and is obviously collected as no grass anywhere to be trod in the van. Nicely situated for visiting local attractions ,in summary a first class cl I would have no hesitation in recommending,

First visit, not the last for sure!

We stayed for three nights, breaking our journey from Cornwall to the Pennines. Wonderful welcome, assistance with setting up and loads of local information. Lovely little town of Much Wenlock down the road and so handy for numerous National Trust properties, not to mention Ironbridge and its museums. Handy pub, Wenlock Edge Inn just up the road. Well done Brian & Alison.

Perfect site and a lovely location

A perfect site, with everything you need, even a dog wash. Great location and perfect for dog walks from the site too. Will definitely be back.

Fabulous site and we will be back!

This CL has got to be one of the best CL’s in the country. Alison & Brian are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We’ve just returned from an wonderful 8 night stay and we even got the weather. The site is immaculate and each pitch has its own bins for waste and recycling and there is even a long water pipe supplied for waste water. Fresh veg is available from an honesty tray and a small selection of books. The grounds are very well tended and even when Alison & Brian mowed the lawns it was a quiet affair - no large, noisy sit on mowers like on many sites. There is even a lovely table, chairs and parasol on the central lawn for guests to use. The site is on a lovely quiet lane with beautiful countryside views which was perfect for walking our dog. In the local village (Much Wenlock) there are a lovely array of independent shops and cafes. The Pig & Pie Bakery is a must - the freshly baked cakes, pies, breads and homemade meals were a godsend for us. Unfortunately our little dog became ill with pancreatitis during our stay and had to spend some time in the veterinary hospital in Bridgnorth so we were unable to travel far so having this on the doorstep was fabulous. Alison was extremely understanding and went out of her way to help us during this stressful time. The Priory is well worth a visit - free parking in the village if you are English Heritage Members. There is also a wonderful wool shop which being a crafter - I loved. The villagers are very friendly and are eager to chat about the history of the village and suggest places to visit locally. Look out for the village cat! We are already planning our next visit and hope to stay longer next time. Thank you Alison & Brian - your site is an absolute credit to you and your hard work.
