Perfect stay

Had to wait until 16 year old DD didnt want to come with us ( Adult Site) .... but it was so worth the wait. Peaceful and tranquil with lots of birds encouraged by the feeders. Booked after seeing photos on Facebook. Quick phone call to check and we were in ! We stayed at the end of Feb (2019) and arrived in glorious spring sunshine. We were met be the owners and were offered a choice of three pitches for our 8m MH. The one we chose was pretty much level but one of the other mhs on site was using blocks. The pitches are fully serviced hardstandings set around a lawn ( with garden furniture dotted here and there ... all well kept) . The lawned areas were very neatly cut and the gravel was clean too. The recycling and brown areas were descretely tucked away.. There is a little information hut jam packed with ideas and Brian kindly gave us the loan of an OS map of the area and directed us to walks from the site. We had a lovely farmland walk the first afternoon over towards the next valley and back. Unfortunately spring sunshine was replaced with grey the next day but with map in hand and picnic packed, we set off for Much Wenlock trying to keep to tracks and footpaths ( about 3miles) a very picturesque town even in drizzle. Unfortunately the Abbey grounds and Tourist Info office were closed , but we still followed the suggested walk about town and there are heaps of information plaques along the way. After a picnic lunch in the shelter of the old corn exchange building, we made our way up to Wenlock Edge and followed it back ( just past the CL) and a short double back along the road. Just over 9 miles in total including the pootling about in Wenlock... muddy boots, muddy dog and smiling faces all round . A gem of a CL with heaps to do/see without a car.

Beautiful CL Site

Found this site on the CAMH website and from the photos it looked very nice. (Wish more cl sites would put photos on as we wont go to them if they havent got any) We phoned and booked 5 nights from 17th Sept. When we arrived Alison (the owner) gave us a very warm welcome explained about the site and left us to pitch up. After a few days we loved it so much we booked another 4 nights ( lucky that they had availability). The site is very well kept and pretty, it sits in front of the old railway line which is now disused but the bridge remains which gives a very nice backdrop. Pitches slope a bit so you may need block. Each pitch has its own water and waste and ehu. There is an information shed packed with anything you need to see, books to read and even homemade jams and chutney that Alison makes, unfortunately i forgot to go get one before we left but we will definitely be back to this fantastic pretty and quiet site and look forward to seeing what you do with the “Bridge Field”. Thank you Alison & Brian for a lovely stay Carole & Stephen

Our friends came too!

Last year we stayed on this lovely site with our friends in our caravan on our way to Shrewsbury folk festival. This year we did the same but this time our friends stayed in caravan owned and set up by Alison and Brian. It was very well equipped and connected not only to electric but to mains water and grey water drainage plus the awning was set up at a small extra cost. There was even a welcome pack consisting of instant and ground coffee, tea bags, biscuit tin with biscuits and a jar of homemade jam. They met us as we arrived, helped us manouvre our caravan, as motormover had decided to stop working. They introduced our friends to the van, and they were very taken with it. They love the area and feel this site is perfect for exploring this part of the country and are planning to book again, independant of us. As a couple who would not want to tow, they would highly recommend it for people who want the peace and serenity of caravanning on a CL site. Or as an introduction to caravanning for people who are considering it. Firs Cottage is picture perfect, extremely well maintained and run by a lovely couple, we will be back!

Little Gem

We stayed here for 2 weeks at the being of August this being our second year of going to this site. We love this site we almost want to keep it a secret and not tell anyone so it doesnt get booked up but that would mean to other caravaners. The site is lovely very pretty and very well kept. Water and waste on each pitch. This is our favourite CL site we just love it. Alison + Brian are a lovely couple making sure everthing is ok and always willing to help. Information hut is great and you must try Alison jam lovely on toast for breakfast!! Lots of places to visit and Much Wenlock is a lovely little town with a excellent butchers shop which you must try. Also great tea rooms with lovely cakes. Bridgnorth is also a lovely place. But if you want to just relax and stay on site thats lovely to as being an adult only site it is very quite and peaceful. We will differently be back to this site. See you soon Alison + Brian. Best Kept CL

We had a really enjoyable 9-night stay here and decided it is by far the best kept CL we have stayed on . Everything about it is just as described and it was great to have what amounted to a serviced pitch at only £16.00 per night. There is good walking right from the site entrance and many miles of other good walks in the local area. Local attractions are various and good eateries not too far away. We enjoyed a meal at 'The Fox' in Much Wenlock and Ironbridge is both easy to get to and a good place to visit. Our only disappointment was that we took our road bikes and found the local roads just a bit too hair raising for cyclists - the B roads are busy and speed control non-existent. However, next time we will take our off road bikes and enjoy the local off road routes along Wenlock Edge on the old railway, around the Wrekin and the old railway from Ironbridge to Bridgenorth. The owner is very welcoming and helpful and the information hut is a great asset. There is good 4G mobile coverage and a reasonable TV signal. All in all an excellent site that should be held up as an example to CL site owners on how to run one.

Perfection!

We're back home from a seven night stay at Firs Cottage. This is a beautiful well maintained site as previously mentioned. Alison and Brian are a lovely couple who make their visitors feel extremely welcome. Easy access from the road which was very quiet. We had good mobile and television reception. It's hardly surprising that it is better to book well in advance - we couldn't get the first dates we wanted, but I'm glad we waited another few weeks until they could accommodate us and then that was because of a cancellation. We hope to revisit. Thank you once again Alison and Brian.

Little gem

Don't normally write reviews but this fabulous little site deserved one plus Alison dared me to (lol). The owners Brian and Alison are so welcoming and friendly and very helpful. They keep the site very clean and tidy. If your looking for a peaceful and relaxing break this is the place to be. The pitches are fully serviced and spacious which was ideal for our 16 night stay. There is plenty to see and do in surrounding area. I recommend Alison's damson jam found in the information hut. Looking forward to returning next year

First rate CL

A very nice CL with the added benefit of water and grey waste laid on to every pitch. Plenty to do in the area including Much Wenlock and the surrounding hills. Owners are very helpful and keep the CL immaculate

LOVED THIS PLACE

This was our first visit to this site and we loved it from the moment we arrived. We spent three nights here and I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviews about how well kept this site is, the beautiful tranquil location and the friendly owners. Looking forward to a return visit.
