One of the Best

THANK YOU ANNE AND RON. Yet again we have enjoyed another fortnight at this all weather CL. There is easy access to the site and the welcome after a long trip up from Devon, it is always appreciated. The cleanliness and friendly helpful service is very reassuring. All pitches have their own drain and tap and there are the standard hookup points. We love this site and have used it to easily access the Ribble Valley, Lancaster, York, the Forest of Bowland and Yorkshire Moors The site overlooks the Pendle Hill and is only 6 mins drive from the town of Clitheroe. On site is a waste disposal point and a very clean functional  WC and separate shower room. There is good TV reception and Wi-fi is available. We look forward to going back Chris Davies and Liz Page

Easter in Lancashire

Beautiful surroundings and view (when the rain stopped!).  Good walking and good dog friendly pubs in Waddington.  Very friendly, welcoming owner. Really enjoyed our stay.  Thank you Anne.

A warm welcome awaits you!

Delightful owner, Ann, seems to personally welcome everyone at this lovely CL in an area of stunning beauty.  The CL has everything you want with the added bonus of water to each individual pitch.  If you want excellent beer and food locally, Waddington has three pubs which have it all and, although untried on this occasion,The Three Millstones in West Bradford looked very promising. We can't wait to get back to Drake House Farm on another visit and to further explore the real delights of the Forrest of Bowland, perhaps England's best kept rural secret. Thank you, Ann for your good company and for your very warm welcome which was much appreciated.  John & Jan

Warm welcome

We booked this site over the phone after looking at the sites own website. Ann was very friendly and helpful. The directions on the website were spot on. (Don't try any other route). Each pitch has water and electricity and is on flat hard standing with plenty of room to park. Overall a very pleasant stay and hope to return in the near future.

Worth a Visit...

Overall, Drake House is a pretty good site. It's quiet, reasonably easy to access and the owner is friendly and accommodating. The toilet/shower block is best described as quirky, but it's very usable and the the shower is good and hot. Other facilities are just what you'd expect from a CL. Our only niggle with Drake House is the cost - at £16 per night it's at the top end for a CL, but then there are extras such as a £1.00 charge per person if you have visitors. Worth checking out the tariff on the Drake House website before you book. Our overall rating is 7/10.

LANCASHIRE TOP SPOT

We have had a fantastic week at Drake House Farm, I totally agree with all the previous reviews. Cobweb in the toilet! its in the country best described has rustic charm definitely not a problem. Meeting Ann was like meeting an old friend, one of the most amicable people you will ever meet, great welcome, wealth of local knowledge, extremely helpful. Everything about this wonderful site as been said, if you like walking the riverside at Clitheroe is good, if you travel a little further afield Beacon Fell, Stokes Reservoir, Gisburn Forest and Malham Cove offer a wide range of scenic walks of varying lengths. Gisburn Forest as dedicated mountain bike tracks. Clitheroe offers the castle and market and a good choice of eateries, Skipton as towpath walks along the Leeds and Liverpool canal, boat trips, market and shopping around this beautiful town. The Bowland Forest is one of Englands most scenic areas, dotted with quaint villages, stunning scenery and quiet lanes to walk or cycle. Drake House Farm is ideally situated to enjoy all of these and with such a great site you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous site

Fabulous site Best CL we have been on for a long time, lots of space, water, plus hard standing pitch and there a shower and WC if you need them, complete with pet spiders, great, love it... the site was very quiet no noise from the farm or our fellow caravaners. Was a little worried about the route up Eaves Hall Lane, but no need there was plenty of room for our Lunar Clubman. There is a very fine selection of Pub restaurants serving very good food, try The Higher Buck at Waddington. Ann is a great host, made us very welcome and waving us off on our last day. We will be back next time we are in the area.

Sheer Bliss

This has to be amongst the best CL we've ever stayed on! The final approach is a bit tricky; best to switch off the sat-nav and use Anne's directions which are spot on. The first thing that strikes use when you arrive is the fabulous view over the valley to Pendle Hill, especially if, like us, you're lucky enough to be arriving on a clear sunny day. All the pitches are HS and have their own tap an drain. There's a toilet and shower for those who want to use them (we do!). Loads of walks direct from the site or a short drive away. Or of course you could just sit and relax, the only sounds you're likely to hear are the sheep and the birds. It's a little pricey by CL standards at £16 a night, but you get what you pay for. To us it was worth it for the peace and quiet alone. And, of course, there's always that view. This was a short break for us, but we'll certainly back for a longer stay.

Good site

This is a lovely site, spacious, large pitches. However, two things let it down. 1. There was dog dirt on site. 2. The toilet/shower area was not as clean as it could have been with lots of cobwebs everywhere.
