Lovely peaceful site

We stayed at Drake House Farm one week in September. We had a lovely pitch, overlooking the Pendle Hills and the field of sheep. It was perfect!! All pitches are serviced pitches with hardstanding with water, drainage and electricity. The shower / toilet block was always clean with plenty of spare loo rolls and a visitors area with leaflets of places of interest. There was lots to see and do in the area. We loved Clitheroe, a real old-fashioned town with individual shops rather than boring chain shops. There are wonderful views from the castle (free). Other great days out were the East Lancs Railway, Trough of Bowland and we even went to Blackpool to see the lights. The food at The Three Milestones Inn was very good - a bit pricey but they do a 3 course special earlier in the evening. Ann was very welcoming and friendly, great for local knowledge and enjoyed a chat without being intrusive. We had a great time - so good that it's top of our list for next year! Thanks Ann (Liz & Dave and sister Sarah)

Great place to stay

This site was as described, friendly and peaceful. Great views overlooking Pendle Hill and plenty of sheep to keep us amused. Plenty of walks nearby which was great for us and our four legged friend. Fairly easy access but had a small issue with a tractor on the single lane bridge so be careful as not a great place for reversing! Will be visiting again

My new favourite site

Went here for 2 nights over last weekend. Really easy to find thanks to the directions that were recommended. Friendly greeting from Ann on arrival. Well looked after site, lovely views. One toilet, 1 shower both were clean. Each pitch had its own tap so we were able to be fully serviced . Loads of walks direct from the site, we didn't use the car at all. A good choice of pubs within half hour walk. This has now become a firm favourite with me, can't wait to go back. We also had glorious weather, bonus.

Chilled Out

Just returned from 6 chilled out days at Drake House, peace, views, and local pubs to die for. Now on our list of favourites will be returning at least 1 more time this season. One of the best we've been on amenities basic but more than adequate, owner very pleasant and easy to get on with. Nice long driveway to walk the dogs which leads onto numerous footpaths.

I love Drake House

Wow,what a wonderful site,it's just a shame we don't live nearer we would be there every weekend. The hardstandings are well laid out with loads of space between them giving you loads of privacy. The views of Pendleton Hill are amazing even in the rain. And to top the lot then there's Ann,one of the nicest ladies we've ever met,she certainly makes this site.Thankyou Ann for making it special.

A peaceful two days with a super welcome

We've just spent two glorious nights at drake hall and can highly recommend it ! Peaceful nights , no interruptions or noise , with the most friendliest of welcomes . Ann is the perfect host but not intrusive . Although we did not use them there is a toilet , shower and there's wifi too . Good phone coverage too . Well maintained grass areas and we had the pleasure of feeding a lamb and watching the farmer cuttting the fields ! Def would recommmend . Waddingon is close by a lovely town and clitheroe a short drive . Thank you to Ann , drake hall is a credit to the cc and m club

2nd visit - not the last!

This was our second visit to this fabulous CL perched high on the hills above Clitheroe. It certainly won't be our last! Not much to add to any of the previous reviews about the site itself which has all you could possibly ask for - toilet, shower, dog friendly, free WiFi, excellent TV and phone reception. Oh, and superb views over to Pendle Hill on the other side of the valley! Plenty of local walks including one up the lane from the site itself, back across a little stream and through the adjacent woods which were dense with bluebells this week. Also a nice walk along the Ribble Way from the bridge down in West Bradford itself. Lots of interesting spots within easy driving distance, especially overseas the hills via Nick o' Pendle in one direction and to Dundop Bridge - which claims to be the geographical centre of Great Britain in the other direction. Marvellous views all round. Clitheroe itself has the usual supermarkets for stocking up plus a lot of smaller independent shops - one to make a beeline for is Cowman's Famous Sausage Shop on the main street. Certainly a site we'll return to in a beautiful area of the country. Wish I could put some pictures on here, but I'll repeat all this with some pictures on the CL section of Club Together.

Well worth the effort!

We stayed for five nights over the May Day bank holiday and this little site was well worth the 5.5hr journey from Norfolk. Beautifully kept with individual hard standings and mown grass between, all with wonderful views of Pendle Hill. Each pitch has electric hook up and fresh water tap. The site also has a clean loo and shower and useful information area. Plus standard wifi is included with the site fee. All in all very impressive for a CL. Very dog friendly with plenty of walks nearby. As this was a Spring visit there were adorable lambs in the adjacent field and we awoke daily to moorland birdsong. A good location for trips to Clitheroe, Stocks Resevoir, Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland. Quiet and genuinely relaxing and even the weather was great!

TOO SHORT A VISIT

We have just spent the weekend at this lovely little site, only regret is that the weekend isn't long enough Frown  We could quite easily have stayed for much longer, unfortunately that four letter word called 'work' keeps popping up!! Follow the instructions for directions carefully and you will arrive safely - don't be put off as the road narrows when you pass the three rivers site, just keep going and it's the next turning on your right. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly owner Ann and advised on all the amenities available. This site gives you total piece and tranquillity (just how we like it)! We don't live too far away so we will defiantly return to this lovely little site, hopefully for a little longer next time?
