What an amazing find, we have been using CL’s for many years and this one is simply the best. When we arrived I could not believe our luck. Easy from start to finish, Richard booked our ferry crossing and saved us 50% on web price, great location and easy access to site. Level large hard standing pitches, which are fully serviced, yes.... FULLY SERVICED. How great was that, I could not believe our luck, this together with the amazing view, made our holiday. Richard and Beryl were lovely, helpful, made us feel welcome, nothing was too much bother...
Loved it so much, we stayed a few extra days.
Thank you, we will be back....

A great stay
A peaceful CL with an open sunny aspect and extensive views over the downs. Excellent facilities and well spaced ‘super pitches’. V good TV reception. Good footpaths from and close to site lead to an extensive network. It’s a 15 minute walk to Whitwell where the White Horse serves good meals and the buses take you to Ventnor and Newport. From Newport it is possible to explore the rest of the Island by rover ticket. There are opportunities for energetic cycling both off-road and on relatively quiet roads. Magnificent views of the IoW and the sea from the local high points. The nearest shops in Niton are a mile away by road but further by footpath. The owners Richard and Beryl are v friendly and attentive and rightly proud of their attractive CL.
Wonderful site, fantastic views and warm welcome
We visited Downsview CL when I was unwell and needed to rest. What a blessing we found this CL and Richard and Beryl, the caring and thoughtful owners. The views are spectacular so it wasn’t a necessity to drive out if needing to just rest and the convenience of the services on the pitch was a true bonus. I thoroughly recommend the peace and quiet, along with the dog walks right outside the gate and an easy walk to the village and pub. We had a bit of a surprise when we took off our hitch cover, only to find a bird had started to build a nest under it! We felt really guilty having to take it off and drive away. Hopefully the bird will find it and rebuild quickly somewhere a little safer. We will definitely return.
A very Gregarious site
Stayed on this site from 28th July to the 11th August, if your into peace and tranquillity this is the site for you , this was the 9th time we have stayed on the IOW and by far the best and what a refreshing change to stay on a site where you are allowed to position your caravan on your pitch which ever way round you choose to make the most of the fantastic views we had a fully serviced pitch at CL prices what more could you ask for, thank you Richard and Beryl.

Fantastic Site
Fantastic site, best inland view we have had in over 40 years of caravanning. Richard and Beryl gave us a lovely welcome on arrival, they were not intrusive on our fortnights stay but were always available if you needed anything. Couldn't wish for more.

A gem of a site and such knowledgeable and friendly owners
We got a text before arriving setting out where to pitch if the owners weren't there which was good, they also let us arrive earlier as the pitch was vacant.
Richard met us on arrival, explained the services, local area etc. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Allowed us to pitch on the 8mx8m pitch however we liked.
Absolutely beautiful location, well kept grounds, clean service points, fully serviced pitches and adults only, ticked all our boxes.
Only downside was the landover immediately next door starting his tractor early (wasn't a farmer) - would come by, start it up, let it run for 15 mins filling the air with fumes then turn it off and drive away in his MPV, very strange. Nothing either Richard or Beryl could do about it and it didn't ruin our stay, just got us up a little earlier than we'd have liked a couple of times!
If we go back to IOW then I'd definitely book again
Fantastic CL
This CL is an amazing find for us, we live on the Island and we were looking for escapism, peace and tranquility and an opportunity to explore more of the lovely countryside the Island has to offer. This site has it all. It is relatively new and the owners have been very thoughtful in it’s design to ensure uninterrupted views of the countryside and the luxury of water and electric on every hard standing pitch. Very warm, informative welcome from Richard Webb, access is easy and thought has even gone into a gravel run up and drive over waste water disposal for a motor home. The site is very well maintained. Can’t recommend this site high enough and we will most definitely be back.
Fantastic CL
What a fantastic find! We spent ten wonderful days here during August and can't wait to return. The site is superb, lovely views and Richard and Beryl are amazing hosts. It was our first time on the Isle of Wight, but certainly won't be our last! Richard has lots of fantastic local knowledge which allowed us to experience someone wonderful places and picturesque restaurants! A helpful A4 guide is given to all as you arrive (which for us was really useful). Nothing is too much trouble for the owners: we wanted to extend our stay, which was not a problem, with Richard kindly helping us to change our ferry crossings with absolute ease. Thank you Richard and Beryl for a lovely stay, we look forward to seeing you next year. Mark and Alex

Lovely CL
Downsview is a lovely CL with wonderful views. Peaceful location with close amenities including a few wonderful pubs serving excellent food. Thank you to Richard and Beryl for providing a wonderful welcome, lots of useful information and sharing their knowledge of the island which was incredible. Highly recommended from a member who has only used CLs over the last 10 years or more.
A CL the locals use
This CL is new in 2017, located so as to afford views over the valley. The 5 hard stands all provide both electric and water. I found access to and from the stand easy.
Many sites provide a walk for your dog to exercise and answer the call of nature, as long as he is on a lead. Our pet was delighted to discover the miles of off-road routes from this site where he was free to explore in safety. One such lead straight to the pub in Whitwell, noted for its food.
The nearby village of Niton boasts a grocers, stocked with all we needed and a post office which serves coffee, cake and light meals either indoors or in their pleasant garden. The post office also has a licence. We were able to walk there off the picturesque but narrow lanes.
For our big outing we chose to walk over the Downs to the ‘Pepperpot’, a local heritage site listed by English Heritage. From here you gain exceptional views of the Island and the Channel. A short walk downhill is the Blackgang Viewpoint, where delicious Chale Farm ices can be bought. The Blackgang Chine theme park and the coastal path are close by.
On the Downs we often passed off road cyclists, who share the wide spaces. Downsview site is also a good starting location during the walking festival fortnight, .
We know the Island well, living onlty 9 miles away, Downsview is a place we will visit again.
