First Class CL

We had a week at Downsview in the middle of May 2024 (should have been May 2020 but lockdown scuppered that). It was lovely. Fully serviced pitches, level and all hard standing with plenty of room. Great views from the site and footpaths all round from the site. Beautifully maintained. An exceptional CL. First visit to the Isle of Wight and we found loads to see and do. Thankyou to Richard for booking our ferry crossings and saving us a fortune. We can particularly recommend the Black Garlic Chocolate Cake at the Garlic Farm Cafe, (lots of red squirrels here), the walk out to the Needles , Carisbrooke Castle and Osbourne House. Yarmouth was very quaint as well. Thank you Richard and Beryl for a really enjoyable CL and holiday.

Amazingly peaceful and well maintained site.

This is a beautiful and peaceful site and Richard and Beryl are very welcoming and helpful. We spent 7 days here in May 2024. The views over the downs are lovely and the sunsets spectacular. This was our first visit to the Isle of Wight and we were lucky to find such a well maintained site. Richard gave us good information on places to visit and we were particularly impressed with his recommendation of the Number 7 restaurant in Niton ( formerly Joe’s bar). We had two excellent meals there and it’s within walking distance of the site. It was our first visit to the site and hopefully it won’t be our last.

Fabulous IOW site

We spent 11 nights at the very well maintained Downsview CL in May 2024 where Richard and Beryl were really helpful and considerate. The pitches are all serviced with water and grey waste disposal. The views around the site were serene and lovely, despite occasional rain. When we booked our pitch, Beryl suggested that she could also book the ferry for us, and she produced a huge saving using their trade account. The site is very well located, with nowhere on the island more than 17 miles away and we will happily go back there again.

Absolutely Fabulous!

As Island residents we are trying out local sites to 'find our feet' as relatively new motorhomers! This lovely site lived up to everything we have discovered we love about it - absolutely stunning scenery, total peace and tranquillity and a beautiful neat and tidy site. The pitches (five in all) are well spaced apart with their own EHU, water and grey waste, set on gravel and edged with neatly mown grass. There is planting around each fenced off pitch (which isn't shown in the photographs) and there is plenty of space between each pitch. The paddock is large and well kept and you can also access the lower field which Richard told us is stockproof and safe to let your dog off the lead. There is no light pollution, nothing nearby that causes annoying noises and it's well off the road so you don't hear traffic. We did a lovely walk up onto the down which wasn't far away. There are waste bins on site for recycling and rubbish disposal; electric is on metre and you can top up if you need to. We had the most restful two night stay and Richard and Beryl were wonderfully welcoming and helpful hosts. We were very reluctant to leave! We'll definitely return to this site for more rest and relaxation.

Fabulous Fully Serviced Site

Beautifully located fully serviced site within easy walking distance of several great pubs. Richard & Beryl give you a really warm welcome and will brief you on walks and attractions within the local area. Can’t recommend this site more highly.

Absolutely fantastic

We stayed at Downsview for ten days during June and July. Fantastic site, very well organised, clean and well kept. Great views and very peaceful. Dog walks from site are simply suburb in all directions. Richard and Beryl were uber friendly and full of useful local knowledge. its a small site but the pitches are well spaced and immaculate. Local pub in Niton is highly recommended food is really top class, the pizza from the post office, yes the post office, on Wednesday night was one of the best we have had and the local shop is on par with any good supermarket. We clearly had a fantastic stay so thank you both very much Richard and Beryl from both of us and our two Boxers!!!

THE BEST OF THE BEST...

Cannot recommend this CL site highly enough, downsview is an excellent site,of which is kept to a very high standard, the pitches are of a generous size with almost manicured grass at the sides.all pitches are fully maintained. the area and views speak for themselves,(most beautiful)while the hosts richard and beryl are very friendly, helpful and set the bench mark for CL sites. we will be back for the third time again soon.

A Benchmark Cl that sets the standard

A 1st class adult only Full service CL site, in a lovely location. Owners (Richard & Beryl) are friendly, helpful, approachable but not intrusive and simply just very nice people with lots of "Local" advice of walks, pubs, events, landmarks etc. Keep up the great work its very appreciated.

This is what CL's are about!

A gem of a site, with new gravel for the pitches in 2022 - and nicely level. Quiet, wonderful views to the Downs in the north. Very helpful hosts, with lot of good advice about the locality. About 25 mins walk to the pub in Niton, and a number of great walks from the site itself. Wonderful - look forward to returning some time

Delightful CL

We have just returned from a ten night stay on this delightful CL site. The views, peace & quiet cannot be overstated. The pitches are level and very well spaced. So many fantastic dog/walks straight from the site through truly unspoilt countryside. Only 1 mile away is the lovely village of Niton, which has a very well stocked supermarket, two pubs and a visiting fish & chip van on Friday evenings, all worth a visit. The Isle of Wight is a beautiful place to visit and with Richards great knowledge of the island, we were able to visit some amazing places only known to the locals. We were also lucky enough during our stay to see some red squirrels. We found something to do or somewhere to visit every day of our stay. Many thanks to Richard & Beryl who were super hosts. We will definitely return, until then....... Howard & Kay.
