A gem of a site, with new gravel for the pitches in 2022 - and nicely level. Quiet, wonderful views to the Downs in the north. Very helpful hosts, with lot of good advice about the locality. About 25 mins walk to the pub in Niton, and a number of great walks from the site itself. Wonderful - look forward to returning some time
We have just returned from a ten night stay on this delightful CL site. The views, peace & quiet cannot be overstated. The pitches are level and very well spaced. So many fantastic dog/walks straight from the site through truly unspoilt countryside. Only 1 mile away is the lovely village of Niton, which has a very well stocked supermarket, two pubs and a visiting fish & chip van on Friday evenings, all worth a visit.
The Isle of Wight is a beautiful place to visit and with Richards great knowledge of the island, we were able to visit some amazing places only known to the locals. We were also lucky enough during our stay to see some red squirrels.
We found something to do or somewhere to visit every day of our stay. Many thanks to Richard & Beryl who were super hosts.
We will definitely return, until then.......

Just got back after another super stay at Downsview. Well done to Richard and Beryl who make this site such a lovely place to stay. The fully serviced level hardstanding pitches and outstanding views make this one of the best CL’s I’ve stayed on. Can’t wait to go back.
This cl is perfect in my opinion. 5 well spaced, level, generous sized, quiet, fully serviced pitches with the added bonus of beautiful views. It's IoW location is perfect for walking the coast path as it is no more than 30 minutes from any location and we used the excellent bus service to complete the walk by parking at the end of each days planned walk and busing to the start, very easy over the nine days. Very friendly and helpful owners were able to make great savings on the ferry crossing. Thank you Tim and Jane
Just spent 4 nights at this brilliant CL. The views are outstanding from all pitches. Wonderful and friendly owners who were very helpful on arrival and informed you of all facilities. All pitches had ehu, water and grey waste point and all hardstanding and level. The site has two large fields for dog walks which lead onto the many public footpaths in the area. I didn’t really want to leave a review because I don’t want anyone else to know about it! Will definitely be returning. In fact I’m booking it now. Super!!
our first visit to the IOW, and Downsview was the first site we stayed on for 3 nights. Excellent CL, spacious, flat HS pitches each with ehu, water & grey water disposal. The views are stunning and the owners helpful with information, leaflets and cheery wave & hello when passing. This is a great site if like us you leave the motorhome once pitched and walk or bus everywhere. 2 villages in opposite directions, each a mile so around 15-20 mins on foot both have pubs, Niton also has a coffee shop, chemist and a well stocked convenience store. Footpaths leave from the site in all directions, we walked to St Catherines Oratory from the site, stunning views to The Needles. Bus stops are close by. Dogs on lead on the CL field, but the adjoining field that is the open access to the CL they can be exercised off lead, bearing in mind there are sheep close by, and the bottom paddock is fully secure and dogs allowed off lead as long as sheep not using it. Can't recommend this site highly enough
Just spent a wonderful week at Downsview CL on the Isle of Wight. Hosts Richard and Beryl made us very welcome with plenty of recommendations for places to visit. Water and waste available on each pitch. Location is near Niton, so close to the beautiful coast and St Catherine's Point in the south of the island but only about 15 minutes into Newport for shopping and the cinema if it rains.
First of all, apologies to the owners Richard and Beryl because of our tardiness in leaving a review for their wonderful CL. We are frequent visitors to the IOW (since 1984) but have never experienced gales and rain as we did during Cowes Week. Even the poor sheep in the field looked waterlogged. Suffice to say that we weren't blown away and the awning was still in one piece after two weeks' stay. Its a great CL and the addition of the services pitches (which we have never experienced before) made our stay all the more memorable. Richard and Beryl were friendly and welcoming and receipts etc were delivered on time. We hope to return one day when the weather isn't blowing a gale.
Really well maintained, serviced and peaceful site. With far reaching views of the wonderful IoW countryside and good access as previously noted to local footpaths. Useful information provided on arrival. Beryl and Richard friendly and helpful (including booking the ferry crossing at a reduced rate) but are not intrusive. Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Downsview, its a great base to explore IoW countryside along with its fabulous miles of coastline and beaches. Niton (approx 1 mile by car) has a well stocked store. Thank you Beryl and Richard for an enjoyable stay.
This has to be one of the best CLs with large well laid out fully serviced pitches with far reaching views. Richard and Beryl have obviously given a great deal of thought to providing everything you would require for a wonderful holiday. We spent eight days at this lovely site and is one we would definitely return to. Thank you Richard and Beryl.
