Excellent CL Site

Crofts Barn was very much as we hoped for. A really lovely, peaceful site with good sized pitches and well maintained grass. We liked the cartwheel layout of the pitches which are separated by mature hedges. You felt like you were the only ones there. The facilities includes two washrooms with toilet, shower and wash basin which are very modern and clean. There is a very good dog walk and also other walks from the site. We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly owners. Stephanie was very attentive, helpful and informative about the local area. We loved out stay at Crofts Barns and we plan to return next year.

An absolute gem!

Lovely adults only CL consisting of 5 fully serviced pitches (WiFi, electric, water & drainage). Laid out in a practical and unique cartwheel design - the electric is centrally located in the ‘hub’ and then spoking out are the 5 segments, which result in each pitch being enormous. The established hedges between pitches give the perfect amount of privacy, whilst allowing good visibility too. Included in the price is 10 units of electricity per day. If you use over that amount then it’s billable. We used approx 50% of our week’s worth of 70 units for our late May 24 visit. The owners Stephanie and Wayne are extremely pleasant, and during our 7 night stay they lit the fire pit on 3 evenings which is a great way to enjoy the sunset and chat to fellow campers. You can also buy logs for a private fire pit session if you desire. The CAMC 5 pitches have access to an extremely clean bathroom facility (toilet, sink and shower), all included in the price. All 5 pitches are grass, so Wayne often helps tow caravans onto the pitches with his tractor. We had no trouble arriving and departing in our motorhome even with fairly damp ground after considerable rain. There are two ‘overflow’ fully serviced gravel pitches available for temporary use if it’s not possible to get to the proper pitches due to wet weather. The site also consists of 5-6 non CAMC pitches, for tents & smaller campervans (no caravans). These are located in a separate field, and have their own pair of bathroom facilities (toilet, basin & shower), plus washing up area. The CAMH pitches can use these facilities too. The site owners keep a trio of lovely goats, a beautiful horse (who is living out his retiring years in comfort) and some peacocks. They previously had some alpacas but not any longer. The site is located perfectly between the market town of Banbury and the thriving Stratford Upon Avon. Both are easily reached by road, or by bus from a nearby village (10 mins cycle). The surrounding area is wonderful for cycling, consisting of lots of villages, country lanes, characterful old pubs, and minimal traffic. Crofts Barn has now become a firm favourite after just one visit, so much so that we’ll be returning in 2025 😀.

An excellent CL in many ways

We stayed here for 4 nights early June, what an excellent CL site this is, well maintained and lots of space to enjoy the peace and tranquility of its beautiful surroundings. We used it as a base to explore the northern Cotswolds, with trips to the beautiful chipping campden, stow on the wold and the wonderful Batsford Arboretum near Moreton in Marsh, which is a must visit if you like all things nature like we do. We also managed a trip to diddly squat farm shop (a must if you like the series). The CL part of the site is well proportioned and completely separate with its own dedicated toilet /shower facility, which is kept immaculately clean, and there is a nice short walk from the site itself. I would highly recommend this CL for those wishing to spend some tranquil time in the countryside with great access to the many attractions of the Cotswolds.

Immaculate CL

We stayed here over the Bank Holiday, all communication prior to (and after) arrival was good with a comprehensive information sheet on the do/don'ts before our arrival. The whole site is immaculate, well mown areas, the facilities were very clean and tidy. Two toilets/showers although we didn't use them but had a peak and they were spotless, as was the dishwashing area for the campers who were pitched in the adjacent field. The layout for the CL users is in the shape of a clockface plus one safari tent. The fully serviced pitches were a good size although you have to park your car in the separate (close) car park, all divided by hedging. Entry to the site is via a secure gate with keypad. There is not a dedicated dog walk, however plenty of room to exercise your dog on lead. We found the site to be very quiet, especially at night, the silence only broken by the flagpole when the wind picked up. A pleasure to talk to the goats who came over for a head scratch. There are a choice of farmshops to visit in the local area which enabled us to stock up on some essentials, can recommend Wykham Farmshop close to Banbury with its large butchery and other supplies. It is clear that a lot of pride is taken with this CL, its definitely one we would return to, we enjoyed our stay here.

Peaceful surroundings

We've just returned from a lovely 4 nights at Crofts Barn in our motorhome ... This peaceful site is run by Stephanie and her husband, who are always on hand to help or answer any questions. The whole site is immaculate and grounds well kept. The toilets/showers are clean and hot water always available. We enjoyed feeding the 4 very cute goats! There are 5 large pitches in a circle, each secluded by hedging, so you're not overlooked by the 'neighbours'. There is camping field which is separate to the touring pitches. Majority of the local pubs are closed on Monday & Tuesday, we ordered a yummy Indian delivery with no problem and came on time! There is a local butcher about 3 miles away and can highly recommend their Pork Pies, Scotch Eggs, homemade Sausages and all the meat we bought for BBQ was lovely. The local pub opens at weekends, but we visited midweek, so needed our tow car to go further afield for pub food and local shops. There are quaint surrounding villages. Would definitely return to this tranquil site and a lovely part of Oxfordshire - thank you Stephanie for making us feel welcome - highly recommend Crofts Barn 5*

Peaceful Break

We were due to stay for the Bank Holiday weekend. The site was so peaceful with beautiful sunsets and the facilities always really clean. After a lovely few days it all went wrong as our dog was taken seriously ill. Thanks to the information board we had a local vets details and were able to get him treated. It was touch and go and involved 48 hours in the veterinary hospital but we have him back and fingers crossed he's on the mend. I can't thank Stephanie and Wayne enough for allowing us to extend our stay. Stephanie also kept in touch to see how Shelby was doing. I can't recommend this site highly enough, we will definitely be back 😀

The Perfect Site

What a gem of a site this is! Tranquil location, sparkling clean toilets and showers and a wonderful on site woodland walk. The circular layout works really well providing some privacy with hedges on each pitch. The owners have put a lot of thought and effort into making this an exceptional site.

A beautiful and peaceful site

I've just returned from a 5 night stay at Crofts Barn while visiting friends and family in the area. From start to finish, we felt the site was professionally run - but in no way regimented. The unusual layout of the site means you are not overlooked by any other pitch, yet you are close enough to chat to your neighbours as you walk around the site. The booking process via the owner's website was very efficient and once booked, the owner (Stephanie) sends arrival instructions by email and (nice touch here) a message on day 2 asking if everything was ok for us. We were hardly around during the day so only saw Stephanie once, and her husband the following evening. However, when the wifi went off one morning, we messaged Stephanie as we went out and it was back up and running when we returned. The owners clearly put a lot of effort into keeping the grass mown and the two on-site bathrooms beautifully clean. £30 a night for a full service pitch on a CL might seem a lot, but for us it was worth every penny, and we loved the place. We will be back!
