One of the best

In 32 years of camping and caravanning this site is one of the best I have stayed at in this country. There are strict rules about positioning caravans but that is no real problem. Only one shower and toilet but it was immaculate. The local village of Epwell is a walkable 15 minutes. The village pub had good beer but the advertised meals were a tad basic. We checked google maps using the sites internet connection only available near the toilets and found a number of nearby villages with excellent pub food and the Pheasant at Oxhill served a great evening meal. The instructions given by the owner about using their directions is an absolute must, most of the surrounding roads are single tracked and even driving the car alone through Epwell was difficult to say the least. Well done Stephanie you should be proud of the work you have done with the site. If in the area we will return but next time for a longer stay

Top-end CL

We spent a week at Crofts Barn in May. It was a good place to be during wall-to-wall sunshine! We would echo the virtues extolled by other reviewers. Our reason for not giving five stars is the site's policy on dogs. The owners' dogs are allowed to run around loose on the site field and on three occasions we encountered dog poo on the field or car park. Stephanie cleared it up when it was drawn to her attention, and wanted any instances reported so that she could take swift action. But for us, having to do that made the site feel less peaceful.

Reply from Crofts Barn

We thank you for your review and have addressed your concerns regarding our dogs by installing an electric fence which restricts our dogs from accessing  the CL site.

Absolutely Lovely

Have just spent a week at this really lovely CL. Stephanie was there to greet us when we arrived and made us very welcome. The site is lovely. Very quiet and relaxing with lovely alpacas, donkeys, chickens and a horse, but for us the star of our visit was the woodpecker which visited the bird feeders every day. The pitches were all fully serviced and there was lots of room between each one. The site itself was very easy to find. The shower and toilet was lovely and immaculately clean. The nearby village of Tysoe had all that was needed with a shop, cafe, post office and pub and there were lots of lovely National Trust properties in the area. Would definitely visit again.

Brilliant experience for our first CL

Always used larger and/or Adult Only sites previously. The position of this little gem tied in with some family business in the area. Site is very rural with small but very well kept facilities. Owners were great, on hand but not in your face or space. Variety of domestic and wild animals wandering around. Great village pub in Tysoe, The Peacock. Excellent real ales. No food in pub itself but there is a Chinese Takeaway attached that shuts on Tuesday but is replaced by a Fish and Chip can in car park! Check out 'Dick Leith' web site for local walks. Will definitely return and also try other CL,s

Brilliant CL site

What a great site!! We stayed for Easter weekend and following a warm welcome from Stephanie we were allocated a pitch and Wayne towed the van to our grass pitch due to the amount of rain over the past few days. All fully serviced pitches and secure due to a keypad entry for the gate, there is a car park for your car next to the wooden office/toilet. We could only get BBC 1 and 2 through a standard TV reception and as already said no mobile signal unless u are in the office block using the Wifi. We walked to the Bell in Shenington about an hours steady walk - meal was great well worth a walk. We also visited Banbury which was nice. Thank you for providing a good site with excellent shower/loo, we will be back but hopefully next time the sun will shine!

BEAUTIFUL SITE

I cannot add anything to the comments made with the other reviews because they have said it all. What I would add though is we spent 2 nights as a stopover before continuing on the the Isle of Wight and spent the next 8 nights wishing we had stayed on at Crofts Barn. I cannot recommend this lovely site highly enough. Thank you so much.

Oxfordshire Oasis

Really impressed with this immaculate CL. Great welcome and really easy to find. The pitches are set in a pinwheel style around a central electric hook up. This means that no one really looks directly in anyone else's windows which is nice. The CL shower and toilet are immaculate and set in a log cabin adjacent to the site which also houses an information area. Very close to National Trust Stowe House. The nearby village of Tysoe has a very comprehensive shop and nice cafe. The site is very quiet and relaxing. Loved the alpacas and the chance to walk them really made our stay.

Superb site

This is a beautiful site, very good facilities, peaceful, beautifully maintained. We would highly recommend this site to anyone wanting a CL with a bit extra. Wonderful welcome from Stephanie and Wayne and all their fascinating pets and surrounding wildlife. Lots of good places to visit with 30 minutes drive.

Lovely CL

We have just spent a week at Crofts Barn. A five star site, all facilities immaculately maintained with the added bonus of being able to watch the alpacas, donkeys, horse and free range hens from your caravan. The surrounding area is picturesque Cotswolds, without the crowds. Plenty of National Trust properties to visit and endless walking opportunities. Easy access if you follow Stephanie's directions. The information leaflets in reception most useful.

First Timers.

A warm friendly greeting from Stephanie, who showed us around the site and it's facilities. The pitches are large enough for car, caravan and awning if required and laid out in a circle formation very unusual but we liked it. The shower and toilet are kept spotless. There is free wifi on the site but works better nearer the reception area. The surrounding area and outlook is lovely, there are some alpacas, donkeys, chickens and a horse in the field next to the pitches . The alpacas are very funny to watch. We had a very relaxed weekend there and the weather was kind to us too! We will be back before the season ends. Thank you Stephanie and Wayne keep up the good work. Ian and Louise
