Quiet little get away.

We have just spent 2 lovely nights here. The site is beautifully thought out and immaculate. Its so peaceful and quiet here. Loved the added bonus of the Horse, Donkeys and Goats. Yes you pay a bit more than most sites but to us it was worth the cost. Thank you to our hosts for their warm welcome and recommendations of where to eat etc.

Lovely peaceful well designed site

Thank you to Stephanie for answering our phone call on Saturday afternoon when we were desperately searching for an alternative CL site after having to cancel our planned booking at another site! Easy booking system on line and an hour later we were parking up in our VW Campervan. Loved the well thought out design of the site, with beech hedges which gave privacy. Spotless toilet/ shower facilities, and appreciated the washing up area. Nice site walk planned out for you. Very peaceful rural location, couldn’t help noticing the beautiful mature Ash trees, hope they are still here in 10 years time and they don’t succumb to Ash Chalara. A very beautiful location, with plenty of walking opportunities on our next visit.

Worth the wait?

Crofts Barn has been on my "must visit" list for some time, it's layout is very different from the norm. The booking in process was 1st class. Emails were answered promptly, the required deposit was sent by bacs, and two weeks before arrival we had a reminder that the deposit was due. A week later we had another communication giving us all arrival details, electronic gate code and where to find all the facilities with a plan of the site. All very efficient. Our pitch was slightly sloping, because of heavy rain the day before we arrived it was not too easy to level up. The serviced pitch tap and grey waste were a joy to use. Crofts Barn is Adult Only, another big plus. This is what we were paying for, a heafty £30 per night, it has to be good. At no point in our 5 night stay did we meet the owners. That I find very odd. The site and pitches are dominated by a self catering Safari Tent. The adjacent caravan pitches are very close, and as with awnings, a canvas sheet does not stop sound, spoken or other, from escaping. At gone midnight we could clearly hear the occupants enjoying their stay. We were not adjacent, it must have been grim for the two vans that were. So,because of the Safari Tent, we would not return to Crofts Barn. If it was to be taken away or moved to its own location away from the caravan pitches, we would. What a shame to spoil such an unusual CL.

lovely peaceful site with great owners.

Lovely site with unusual clock faced design for the pitches with means that you are not overlooked by other vans. The pitches are fully serviced and the shower and toilet facility was spotless. Easy access and lots of lovely places to visit close by. It is clear that the owners take pride in the site and they are very friendly and helpful.

Great CL

This CL is a lovely site in the beautiful Cotswolds, all pitches are serviced making it very convenient for water and grey waste, they are laid out in a circular fashion with hedges in between making the pitches feel very private, there is a nice dog walking area attached to the site, lovely walking areas, the site is quiet and well maintained, Stephanie was a great host ensuring we were aware of all we needed to know, and kept the toilet/shower immaculately clean and sanitised, the site was Covid compliant, we would not hesitate to return if we are in the area again and will certainly recommend it to our network of Motorhome/caravanning friends

Beautifully kept and peaceful CL

We are recently back from a 3 night stay at Crofts Barn CL site (end of July). Each of the pitches were laid out in a circular pattern, all grass, separated by low hedges, I presume to be the spokes on a wooden wheel, had their own drinking water tap and grey waste drain. There was a central hub which was the electric hookup for each of the 5 Caravans/Motorhomes. Each caravan did not directly look out on each other. Plenty of room on the pitch for both caravan and awning. Cars were parked in the car park, next to the site. The people who run the site were friendly and informative about the local area, although we were left to ourselves, we don’t mind that. The facilities, even though was just a single shower room with a wash basin and toilet, was spotless and plenty of room. We were advised 2 weeks prior to our stay, that due to COVID-19, restrictions had been applied to the use of the facilities, as it was situated in a building used by their office staff, hours of using the facilities were to avoid office hours Mon-Fri. As we stayed Fri-Mon, that didn’t bother us. There was a resident horse and donkeys in the paddock next to us and also chickens but were not roaming around. There weren’t any Alpacas, as we were advised when there, that they were not friendly. We weren’t there long enough to see any wildlife, but did see a few birds of prey and deer crossing the road nearby. On a walk we were advised of by the owners, did mention badgers and what to look out for, but, we must have gone on the walk at the wrong time of day but did see signs that they had been about. It was very quiet and peaceful and no obtrusive lighting at night time either. We also found that Crofts Barn was an ideal base to tour the Cotswolds, with places such as Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Campden, Broadway, Broadway Tower were only about 1/2 hour away by car and Banbury was about 20 minutes away by car as well. We would thoroughly recommend this site to anyone. Neil & Theresa

A Wonderful and Peaceful Site

On my previous review I said I would return again soon. Well we have just returned from another week and rank it as one of the best CL's we have used. The grass pitch locations are large and there is plenty of space for a large awning with additional space as the car is located in their separate car parking area. Each pitch has water and electricity on tap and a drain for grey waste. The welcome from Stephanie was warm and much appreciated and she is obviously someone that seeks to provide the highest standards. If you choose the site you will not be disappointed. I recommend Crofts Barn unreservedly.

Wonderful Stay

What can we say! A beautiful and well maintained site, stunning countryside, plenty of walks from the site and picturesque villages a step back in time. Unfortunately we had to return home halfway through our stay for a family emergency and were so sorry to leave as we had many more walks planned. We felt very safe and Stephanie had done everything possible to ensure this with good communication and spotless facilities. We met some lovely people, chatting at a social distance and watching the woodpeckers on the feeders Wonderful

Lovely beautifully kept site

I don’t normally review sites, but I felt Croft Barn deserved a thumbs up. We went at the lifting of lock down and found the site immaculately kept. We were pre-warned the Full facilities couldn’t be open all the time. But we were more then happy with every bit of our holiday. We have already re-booked. Endorsement in its self. A beautiful site in a beautiful part of the country.🙃

Fantastic CL

I totally disagree with the one star given in an earlier review left by persons who were on the site the same time as me. I do not understand the negative comments made about this site and as for the owners we found them to be nothing but accommodating and extremely friendly. 5 star all the way as far as I am concerned and for a more accurate review of the situation over the period concerned look at the one titled ‘Bemused’. I have no hesitation in recommending this site and will hopefully return in the not too distant future.
