Best CL we have stayed on

We stayed at Coney Heath for two weeks, it is definitely the best CL we have found so far. Mr & Mrs Doy are excellent hosts, if you needed any help you only had to ask. The area is beautiful, Holt is a lovely small town, I loved Bakers & Larners. There are some lovely cafe’s in the town. Sheringham was easy to get to and have a large Tesco for all shopping needs. We will definitely be returning, one of the attractions of the site is they don’t have dogs, we like dogs but so many people now have 2 + dogs and they are not always well behaved, the last thing we want when away is to hear the constant barking and howling of dogs who are just left outside. This site offers the peace and quiet that we enjoy when away from home.

Lovely site.

Lovely site. Roger was most welcoming on our arrival. A few walks and bus service on your doorstep. Holt a short walk away.

One Of The Very Best

We cannot disagree with anything said in previous reviews. This is truly a delightful CL. We stayed here last week and were most impressed by the immaculate way in which the owners have set out and maintained their site. Our pitch was big and had mains water and drainage and even its own television aerial if required. The other pitches just the same but all individual in style with plenty of space between. We had a great reception from the owner who ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. We thought the site was well located with regard to Holt, the coast and the many attractions surrounding. We have already booked a return visit early next year and strongly recommend it.

Excellent site

This is by far the best CL we have stayed on. It was great to have a fully serviced hard-standing pitch but what we really liked was the overall setting….really well looked after and beautifully set out. Definitely recommend a visit here…..we hope to come back at some point if we visit North Norfolk again.

One of the Prettiest Sites

This is one of the prettiest sites we've been on. Beautifully maintained by owners who go the extra mile to help. Easy to find, with a supermarket and petrol station within a 15 minutes drive and Holt is within walking distance. The pitches are fully serviced, more or less level and a descent size.

Excellent CL

Another excellent cl to add to the "must return" list. Great base for visiting numerous nearby places of interest and seaside towns on the east coast including Blakeney, Cley and Sheringham. Site has 5 very well spaced serviced hard standing pitches and it is very well cared for by Roger and Marjorie. Couldn't really ask for more. Had a very enjoyable 5 days stay and would have loved to have stayed longer but not surprisingly all fully booked.

Excellent Port in a storm

We looked for somewhere to visit during the storms of Feb 2020. The solution was to visit a site where the weather had been driest with hard standings. This meant that we chose Coney Heath, based on descriptions and photos, the photos are a true likeness of (unlike some we have seen in favourable conditions). It has to be said that this is one of the better 'basic sites' (no wi-fi, toilets etc) we have visited in our time (over 60 in all), and that the hard standings are of a high standard. The grass did not cut up between standings as we had to drive over it to reach the caravan standing - this shows how well the site drains. There is a minor road next to it, but don't most sites have one - otherwise how do you get to visit them. I have to admit that we didn't notice the road, nor did we notice the owls except on one occasion, but that is likely due to the high winds experienced at the time. The price £17 (winter rates), would seem reasonable to me, as there has been some investment to the upkeep of the site to make this a a very nice overall location. North Norfolk is not a usual destination for us, but I am certainly glad we made the visit and it was better than sitting at home. Would I consider it again, definitely.

Outstanding cl

This site is an amazing spot that we travel to at least twice a year. We simply do not recognise the site described by the person who complained about the deposit and the noise.. CL owners get let down so often by members who simply do not turn up or cancel at the last moment, that I wish more cl owners were less trusting of a membership card!!!!! At Coney Heath during the day there is some traffic noise from the B road at "going to work" and "coming home" time but it it not intrusive. Night time is totally silent and dark; no awful light pollution. The owls are the only things that you might be lucky enough to hear. Pitches are fully serviced hard standings; rare on cls and all work perfectly. The whole site is fantastically maintained by it caravanning owners who could not be more helpful and friendly. Simply the best value cl around and a dream site all round. We have introduced two groups of caravan friends to the site and they fell in love straight away.

Suited Us for a stay in NE Norfolk

Booking was easy. Can't understand previous reviewer stating he had to pay £50 deposit. We booked for 6 nights and paid £25, deposit and booking only made a week in advance of stay. Look out for CL if approaching from Holt just after the Wood Yard ( we never heard any work emanating from this during our stay). You can pull right up to the wooden entrance gate as it swings inwards. This will help larger outfits that might otherwise protrude into the road slightly. There are 5 Hardstanding pitches, 2 of which are accessed over grass. They each have their own fresh water tap and a waste water disposal drain. This is actually on the pitch and protected by a round piece of log. Be careful you don't drive over it or manoeuvre your outfit across it. Another user did mention that his was blocked but we found ours to work perfectly. EHU points seem to be shared between 2 outfits with one on its own. Road Noise? It's definitely not Brands Hatch. Just the sort of noise you get on a B road leading to 2 small villages. It quietens down to just the odd vehicle after 10 pm and didn't disturb my (easily disturbed) sleep. The resident Tawny Owls were noisier! We had trouble with our phone and wifi signal which came and went with regularity. The ground stood up well to a significant deluge. The Elsan point and bins, including recycling, are in the middle of the site. All are easily accessed. Cannot comment on TV signal or ease for erecting an awning except the member on the adjacent pitch had an awning up and didn't have any problems. Note that this is an Adult only and Dog Free site. All in all a pleasant stay at a conveniently placed CL.
