Fantasic Site

We were a last min booking last October when the original site we had booked was very disappointing.  Luckily Cholsey Grange were able to fit us in and we were so glad they did.  It has fantastic views and the Red Kites never seem to stop swooping overhead.  Very close to the M40 for ease of access but not close enough to spoil the location.  We visited Oxford, Waddeston Manor and of course Legoland!  We also went for a 10KM walk from the site which was and great success for all.  We would love to stay again if we are in that area and think it would be beautiful in the Spring and Summer.  Owners very friendly and helpful, WIfi a bonus!

Beautiful Site

Some may think it a little difficult to access this site but we found it fine and definitely worth it. The view from the caravan is stunning and it's so peaceful, yes you can just about hear the motorway but we did not find it a problem, everything else overrides that. The site is very secure, the owners are very welcoming and informative, we enjoyed two walks from the site, which were some of the best we have ever done, beautiful. Water and electric are easily accessed, we needed 2 cables but we always carry 2 anyway, but there is one to borrow. The elsan is a little walk away but was no problem. We highly recommend this site and will definitely be back.

Beautiful Location

We spent 5 nights at Cholsey Grange, our first visit, and we were not disappointed. Ted and Jackie gave us a very warm welcome. The views from the site are amazing….I’d love to see them again during the other 3 seasons! As you are informed before arrival, the site is sloping but it didn’t cause a problem. The free WiFi is a great bonus…being a CL owner myself I needed reliable internet access to deal with emails, bookings etc and I didn’t have any issues with it at all. The area is a walkers paradise…we parked up on day one and didn’t move the car again until we left. There are numerous footpaths from the site, most passing a pub or two at some point and if you like a challenge (approx. 19.5 mile round trip) the walk to Henley-on-Thames is superb. Ted and Jackie go out of their way to provide you with information if you need it and there’s an incredibly useful bag of leaflets & walks which is passed around the vans. It’s definitely a site we will return to when next in the area.

Cholsey Grange CL

We stayed here for 2 nights in April. Wish it had been for longer as there's so much to do in the area. Everything about the site was great and we loved the quiet location. Although you can see the M40 it's so far away the noise is minimal. The red kites were amazing - very relaxing to sit there and watch them. The ground was very wet from the winter rain and Ted kindly towed our caravan into place with his 4 wheel drive car as our Volvo couldn't get a decent grip on the ground. The recommended pubs were well worth visiting. We shall definitely visit again, thank you Ted and Jackie.

Our Favourite CL!

We have just completed our third stay at Cholsey Grange, my children are 16, 10 and 7, and we have a dog. The five of us all agree that this is the best CL we have stayed at in seven years of using CLs; I was astounded to read the previous review - all CLs state what facilities they have, there are no secrets. I have no issue paying for the extra electricity we use, (during the summer we our usage fell within the pre-paid amount in any case) especially when you consider the WiFi is free, at other sites we have been told that the fee for 24hrs WiFi is £5! Over the last six days we have done a fantastic walk every day - each one from the CL itself, we regularly saw Deer, Red Kite, Game birds, Buzzards, Kestrel, Sparrowhawks and even a stoat! The views from your caravan window are second to one, and we have yet to meet more attentive hosts than Jackie and Ted. Looking forward to another visit!

Expensive couple of days

We were charged £16.00 per night, half of which had to be sent early as a deposit. We stayed on a slopping field with good views, there were no facility's that we saw, but we spent hardly any time there. After our two nights we were then told we had used more electricity than we were allowed in the price, in fact more than double. We were given a bill for another £4.50 which brought the cost up to £18.25p a night. We didn't use any water as we brought a full tank. Sorry, not value for money.

Beautiful Chilterns

Cholsey Grange is within easy reach of the M40 but is set amongst some of the loveliest parts of the Chilterns. The high open views from the site are so good, especially with the trees turning colour at this time of the year. We really enjoyed our stay here, the local walks are beautiful. We saw lots of wildlife, deer hiding amongst the trees and bracken, Kites overhead. A great spot to recharge on our journey home from East Anglia. Many thanks Jackie and Ted!

What more could you ask?

This was our fourth visit to Cholsey Grange and it was as good if not better than ever. The view is wonderful and we constantly had the binoculars at the ready for viewing red kite, buzzards and deer. You have plenty of room and the field is like a beautiful mown front garden for chilling with an area of longer wildlife friendly grasses in front. We had a lovely welcome and the new Wi-Fi worked like a dream so on our rainy day we could catch up with emails etc. Plenty of walks and guidance in the "welcome bag" and we had a walk along the Thames nearby and visited the nearby vineyard/brewery. So many local attractions and nice pub walks etc but only if you can drag yourself away from the site. Pitching is a bit tricky as the site is sloping but so worth it. Water right on site now and the chemical disposal is a short walk away but caused no problem for us at all. All in all a great long weekend made even better due to a group of lovely fellow caravanners.

Ideally situated

The weather was fantastic, which always makes a difference! This is a lovely site with great view into the valley, and oodles of wildlife. Watch the kites swoop down for food, hear the owls, and see the deer and woodpeckers.  There is also a great circular walk of approx 90 mins through the woods.  Ideal for all dog lovers.  Water and electrics ideally located, but for élsan waste..it was a trek and it was also requested that disposal was outside office hours.  You will need blocks to level the van, as the pitch is very steep.  Depending on the direction of the wind you can also expect road noise from the M40 and for us we also has two nights of rave music.  Have to love the festival season!!  We will return soon.
