It was Ok

Last minute August bank holiday booking so we were pleased that we could be fitted in. Easy to access from A road but consequently downside is the traffic noise (trains weren't an issue though as infrequent and not high speed). Also be aware that the sign is not obvious until you need to turn in. One large field with a small fence down the middle splitting the CL site from the general site. Mostly hardstandings. Another small field with seasonal caravans is off the driveway. Modern toilet and shower block containing two showers and two toilets all unisex which wouldn't be a problem except the £1 coin meter for the showers is located outside the door. This means you have to get undressed, wrap towel round yourself and then open door to put money in so you get your full 6 minute shower! Didn't ever have to queue though. Some people thought it would be suitable to shower their dog in here too! Dishwashing area also in here. We were in our VW campervan and found that once you turned off the A roads the lanes were extremely narrow (and we live in a rural area so are used to lanes) so would restrict where you went in a larger vehicle. Footpath opposite entrance but lots of cows in the fields so not ideal for dog walking - you can walk across to the beach this way.

Look out for the Argoed sign!!! Beautiful site

Followed satnav and ended up in a very sticky situation. We should have continued on the main road where the site is well signed. A camper van ended up in the same predicament as us...so beware. The site is bloomin lovely. Awesome views. Very helpful owner. We had excellent weather which made it all the more fantastic. Purchased some local award winning sausages :) from local Spar shop. We stayed 4 nights. There are newly laid hard standing pitches well spaced. some electric hook ups are more than 15m away from pitch. Good facilities Would definitely stay here again.

Argoed Farm lovey Site

Stayed at Argoed for 3 nights in September the site is very quirt and peacfull with lovely views. the staff were very helpfull the facilities and shower / toilet block are excelant for a CL site even thou you had to pay a £ 1 to use the shower but thats not a problem concidering how good they are .the site its self is a bit sloping so you need leveling blocks in places and the access road is a bit tricky not a lot of passing places on the single track into the site but over all we enjoyed our stay Thanks Mark & Jean Cool

Argoed farm

well what a find..... the views were awesome........ we could have just sat and looked at Harlech bay all day.... very handy for all the local places of interest... The toilet block is brilliant.... yes you have to pay for a £1 for a 6 min shower.....but with the site only being £15 a night, for those views.... that's not bad... Would highly recommend this site for anyone going this way.... And be prepared to throw the ball for the farm dog.....he loves a play....

Beautiful site with amazing views

We stayed at this site for 5 nights at the beginning of July and had a fabulous time there. The owners are so friendly they made the stay even better. Lovely spacious site with amazing views over the water. It's in an ideal location to explore lots of places. Barmouth in particular is a great little town with lots of individual shops (rare these days!) and walks and bike rides. Pub in the village (can't remember the name but Sara or Eurig can tell you!) did great food. Would definitely return if we were in the area. Some people have commented about the non-CL part of the campsite not being separated enough but I don't understand the problem. The field is huge so there was plenty of room around the CL pitches and the non-CL pitches were far enough away that they aren't an issue. We've been to plenty of other sites that only have the 5 CL pitches and they have a lot less space than this one does. Great people, great site and great area. Perfect.

Excellent Location & Great Views

We stay at Argoed for 6 nights at the beginning of April. The views were superb - across an inlet to the Llyn Peninsula.  Eurig and Sara were very helpful and sociable and great hosts. Despite the info on this page about 6A supplies, those servicing the CL pitches are now 10A. The CL is close to Harlech for everyday essentials, with Barmouth (South) and Porthmadog (North) not far away. We had a couple of meals at the local pub The Victoria, about a mile away - good pub food. The local beach is a short walk away. We'll definitely be back.

A Lovely CL site

We have just returned from our third visit to Argoed and were sad to leave today!  The views were tremendous, we literally sat and watched the tide go in and out!  The owners Sara and Eurig were as ever lovely hosts and their newly refurbished toilets and showers were large and contained many extras for a CL including washing machine and dryer!  We have brought some of their lovely Welsh lamb home with us this time and are looking forward to our next visit already.

Llanbedr (2277) 13th July to 17th 2015

The site is a large grassed area overlooking the sea and foreshore from an elevated position, Caravan Club members have an area set aside at the rear of the site, they do not have the best views but probable have the best protection from bad weather. The rest of the site is taken up by other touring vans, six while we were there. The shared facilities are excellent, the toilet block is finished to a high standard and has everything from spacious hot water showers to washing machine and tumbler dryer, however with only a 6amp electric supply to our pitch we needed to be very mindful of what appliances we were using, surprisingly the chemical waste point was about as basic as you can get, the wifi download speed was slow and the signal strength only allows connection a few yards from the farm house. However, we very much enjoyed our stay here set, as it is, in a lovely part of Wales.

A Little Gem!

We agree with the previous review that this is an absolute gem of a CL. This was our third stay in the past 12 months. The owners, Eurig and Sara, are very friendly and welcoming. The site itself is spacious and each pitch has ample room for a car, caravan, awning, barbecue area and more (and one of the pitches is part hard standing). There are lots of electric hook-ups (and, while we were there, the supply was uprated to 10 amps to all pitches) and water supply points. The views to the coast and the Lleyn Peninsula are superb, and there are also wonderful views inland to the surrounding mountains. There's plenty to see and do in the area (this time we travelled on the Ffestiniog steam railway, visited the Plas Tan-y-Bwlch gardens and ambled along the 3-mile Harlech beach), or simply relax and enjoy the stupendous panoramas. As well as the CL pitches, there's an immaculate toilet and shower block with laundry facilities, an excellent static caravan for hire on the farm, plus two cottages, making it ideal for non-caravanning family members and friends to join you for a holiday. We recommend this CL very strongly, but also hope rather selfishly that it still remains something of a hidden gem!

The complete opposite of disappointing

We've just returned home after 3 nights at Argoed, and couldn't disagree more with the previous two reviews. The site is beautiful with wonderful views to the sea and mountains. It is very well kept and very spacious. There are extra breeze blocks and mats on hand if you have trouble levelling. The loos (5) and showers (2) were spotless and water was hot and more than adequate, I had to turn it off before the time was up and absolutely no problems with electric supply, hair dryer, toaster and a small radiator all ran perfectly well. The animals at the farm only add to the specialness of the place. We were made very welcome. The village of Llanbedr is a hidden gem, it has a lovely pub the Victoria Arms, menu looked good and service (when we had a coffee) was great. Was given directions for a lovely circular walk up towards the waterfall along a babbling river. As for the wifi, well I got great data signal but didn't try the wifi, I realise that some people need it when travelling but for us it's quite a blessing not to have it.
