Great Site

Acacia House is a great site run by a welcoming family. EHU and water available on each pitch. Nicely spaced out with well thought out facilities. We had a relaxing couple of days. Walk to Brightlingsea about 5 miles. There is a local, dog friendly pub within walking distance.

What a discovery! Beautiful site. We will return.

We stayed here for 3 nights in our campervan. We were so pleased to have found this lovely new site, with large grass plots each having water & EHU, in a natural setting. We did need to use levellers. Delightful walks along the creek. Friendly and helpful owners. We will be back.

Fab little site

Great little site. Table tennis and tv. Fairly level grass but we did need levellers. Ehu and water to all pitches. Swings for kids. Great walk into Brightlingsea and back along the estuary. Definitely recommend.

Totally impressed

What a lovely site, we were pleasantly surprised to find mains points and water tap on every pitch which puts it up among the best we have visited. The hosts are very friendly and are often around for advice or a chat. Stuart must have put so much work into creating this site and its facilities. A huge open sided lounge/ play area gives plenty of room to get together or play games sheltered from any rain, and there is plenty for children to do with swings, slides and a big tree house. We used the bus to get into Brightlingsea then walked back along the old railway track beside the river Colne (about 5 miles walk). You can walk towards Wivenhoe or on to Colchester along the sea wall too. We don’t live far away and chose this site so we could go to a food festival in Brightlingsea. I think there is a good chance we will be enjoying this site again in the future.

A real gem

A real find. The site is well kept but maintains the feel of being out in the countryside. The large, spacious pitches are separated by sections of wild grass and flowers rather than the usual shrubs or trees which adds to the peaceful country feel. All pitches now have electric hook up and fresh water. There is plenty to do nearby either by foot, bike, public transport or car. The hosts are very welcoming and full of information. We cannt fault anything. We absolutely loved this site and will definitely be back.

Candidate for Best C L

We have just spent four days at Acacia House and this is by far the best Certified Location we have ever visited. The pitches were generous with mains water adjacent to each plot; the location was idyllic with lovely views of the rolling countryside; and our hosts Stuart and Sarah went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. And if that wasn’t enough; there was a bus stop on our doorstep, an adjacent walk out into the countryside; and a nearby cycle route down to the estuary. If all certified locations were like this, and if all hosts were as warm and friendly as Stuart and Sarah, then the world would be a better place.

Fantastic gem of a site

We arrived here for just an overnight stop, after visiting family in the area. Stuart couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. My son was blown away by the games room with the snooker, table football and table tennis. Stuart even offered to put a film on for us to watch in the games room. He has plans to install electricity and toilets/showers, so I'm sure the site will be overrun then. We will definitely be back, thanks for making us feel so welcome. We can't really comment on the area, or local attractions, as we left early the next morning, but we did take a footpath and a short walk down to the mill. We also noticed a bus stop and Stuart told us that would take us to Colchester or Brightlingsea, so lots of opportunities.

Very pleasant stay.

On arrival at Acacia House we had a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The site was a joy to find and one we will be returning to. Very tranquil with glorious views and a big bonus was a bus stop right outside. Highly recommended.
