Fab little site.

We have just returned from a short stay on the Cl at Acacia House. What a gem of a find. Excellent facilities, big, well mown pitches and the friendliest, most helpful hosts. It’s just a short drive to the coast and the Tide Mill ( only 5 mins walk away) is beautiful on a sunny day. You can hear hear a little traffic noise at busy times but we will definitely return.

What a gem of a place

Lovely site with electric and water supply to each pitch. Pitches are grass and slightly sloping. Levelling blocks will be needed. Excellent views from the seats in our motorhome on pitch 5. Very well maintained site and spotless shower and toilet if needed. Hope the sun stays out to make it perfect!

Gorgeous site.

Spent 2 nights here so that we could visit the east coast for the first time. From initial phone call to book, to arriving to a warm welcome from Sarah it was a most enjoyable time. The site is so well laid out, large pitches with EHU and water. Looks a paradise for those with children. Stuart and Sarah have made huge efforts with this site and have most definitely succeeded. Definitely one to return to if in the area again.

A gem of a find

Visted 18th April 2023 for 4 nights

All you could ask for and more, what a gem of a site. Large pitches with EHU and water. Toilet and shower are new, and spotlessly clean. These are in the same building as some games tables (pool, table football and air hockey) and some chairs etc for wet days. There is also a large covered area outside for socialising with table tennis, bbq and seats etc. For little ones there are swings and a slide and plenty of open space to play. We found several dog walks right from the site, a choice of open field's, woodlands or a fabulous walk along the estuary. Lots of places to visit close by with bus stops outside the site. Brightlingsea is very close by and we can highly recommend Winkies fish and chips (huge portions). The main reason this CL will be a success is down to the owners Stuart and Sarah - nothing is too much trouble, really lovely genuine people, so much thought and care has gone into the site. Can't wait to go back

A great little CL

We visited Acacia House on 13th April for a week. A great little CL. Lots of extras including a modern shower and toilet and a games area with snooker table and football table etc. Water connection on each pitch with ehu, a bonus. Good facilities generally. Easy access to various areas within easy driving distance including some nice beaches and a bus stop right outside if required. Fish and chips from Winkies in Brightlingsea a must. Really, really good and you can eat in too. Some lovely walks around the area. Colchester has lots of amenities, loads of history and a beautiful park. Sarah and Stuart are very friendly hosts too. We shall return with our grandchildren, God willing, in August.

First time in a CL and so pleased we chose this one!

This was our first trip to a CL, being relative newbies to the club. So pleased we chose Acacia house. Peaceful setting and lovely vibe about the place. Stu and Sarah were so welcoming. It really feels as though they are trying their utmost to make this a successful site. Facilities/ loo and shower were excellent. There’s even a fire pit that can be used! Generous pitches and lots of room between everyone. We will definitely be back! Thankyou

Fantastic little paradise

We have just spent 5 nights at Acacia House CL. We were so pleased with the welcome from Stuart with advice about the area, and the work he has done on the site. This site already has a games room and a fantastic outdoor undercover space for eating or table tennis with a real family feel about it. We came on our own with the dogs, plenty of lovely walks, around the Thorrimgton Mill vineyards which was beautiful. The site also has “working progress” a toilet and shower room which was fully operational when we arrived, thanks to you Stuart. This is going to be impressive when complete😊 This site is a perfect family getaway with children's treehouse and mud kitchen, swings and slide. But also a quite break for 2, I can’t wait to visit again and see the further facilities that both Sarah and Stuart hope to add to this site. This gets 5 stars from us. We will be back soon with the grandchildren. 😊😊😊😊😊

Wonderful stay

Wonderful CL with amazing owners in Sarah and Stuart. Fully serviced pitches, WiFi, Toilet, games room with Pool table, Air hockey, table football, table tennis, so plenty to keep the kids amused on a wet day. Easy access off the main road, glorious views including the river and tide mill which is a short walk away. Easy to get to various seaside resorts including Brightlingsea, Clacton on sea, Walton on the Naze, Frinton on sea etc. Stuart also came to the rescue when the waste pipe under the sink came away, letting water everywhere. He kindly pulled the fridge out and repaired the fitting, despite the fact that he was preparing to go camping the next day with his lovely family. Other than that it was a really peaceful and enjoyable stay. Amazing what they have achieved in such a short time, I can see this being a very popular site that people will return to time after time, so book early.

Grandkids verdict - the best caravan site EVER!

We spent just over 2 weeks at Acacia House with our grandchildren aged 8 and 6. We have taken them to a number of other sites, but for us this was probably the most relaxing because there was so much for them to do, we hardly saw them! They made friends with other children, and as soon as we came back from a day out, they were off, leaving us to recharge our batteries. Besides the excellent play equipment for children, the site is very well maintained and Stu and Sarah were very friendly and helpful. There is a toilet, with a shower soon to be installed, a good recycling and waste area, and the grass is kept mown. They have great plans for the site and Stu is hard at work converting barns to holiday cottages - he never stops! We had great days out at Brightlingsea Lido, two visits to Colchester Zoo as there is too much to see on one day, a trip to Mersea Island, beach days at Walton on the Naze and Frinton, and a visit to Flatford Mill. We also had fun at the Clacton Fire Station Open Day and the Thorrington Village Fun Day. There is loads to see and do in the area, and we are looking forward to a return visit without the grandkids to visit the places of interest we didn't get to see this time. A really great holiday for all of us!

Lovely site

A lovely peaceful site! This was our first stay and definitely not our last. We originally booked for 2 nights and ended up staying another night. The site is easily accessible and we were greeted by Stuart who was very friendly and welcoming. Our 11 and 6 year old especially enjoyed the games room (pool table, air hockey and foosball) and playhouse with slide :-) There is also a lovely covered area with comfy chairs and table tennis. Water and electricity points are offered at each generously sized pitch and there is a toilet adjacent to the games room. We stayed on pitch 1 and just needed to use our levelling blocks to even out the caravan. A great find....we look forward to our next stay!
