Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

Once I log in I straight away get profile, receipts, stored cards and find nearest station on the LHS, it has always been like that, but no option to activate new card... It is probably another blunder, but I have no new card yet anyway so I may use the old one before it is deactivated, but at the moment, even here, Morrisons is the same price.. Odd that as up till now the card has always been 3p cheaper, but we are due another text tonight...

Posted on 15/02/2019 18:20

So the price That is "advised"  via the friday texts is without Vat but the price we pay is with vat added, which is not what is suggested, surprised

Well the "order "i have got from Pump king is for the text price plus vat so it is £4.54 more than the text price for 22ltrs @£1.239 per ltr and that is te price also shown to pay on my "profile" so something else not working

With respect that's the same for just about any site that requires a login. Forgot password>enter email address>they send you a link or a new password. You log in and change the password.

Yes it is appalling that the PIN is displayed twice on the account screen, but this is a bunch of rank amateurs that you're dealing with.

It is cheaper for them to do it this way.

If you're unhappy the safest method is to get your debit card replaced - new number and CCV - they cannot touch it.

Thanks for the advice about changing debit cards, but the MyEsso card is not linked to a debit card, that would be easy to change/replace. The Esso card is linked to your bank account, so you've given Pump-King authority to legally take money directly from your bank account.

That's not what it says in the T&C's. It specifically says a debit card. Nothing about a variable direct debit, which would actually carry more protection through the DD guarantee.

From T&C's

Members can only register for a fuel membership card with a Debit Card (Credit Cards are not currently accepted).

Every Friday so far I have received a text from pumpkin informing me what next weeks card price per litre is. So far no text has been received, so I have no idea of the price from Sunday.

We were promised a new card, so far, a new card has not yet been received, but the old one deactivates on Tuesday.

To activate the new card, when I get it, you have to log in and click on the activate new card link.. My login does not have that option.

Stunning performance, 3 out of 3 fails !

Is there any official comment from the club regarding the obvious failure of this scheme?  There are now thousands of posts between the club forum and external social media relating to non-performance, lack of cards or cards that don’t work, as well as inability to get any communication from pk.  Yet the scheme is still being promoted on the club pages.

3 strikes and your out then, Justus2undecided

I haven't had the text either, although , unlike you,I have got the updated web page, should a card ever turn up!

I'm sure you have logged out and logged in again, or tried clearing your cache to see if that makes any difference?

The cynic in me says that this is an easy way for PK / CAMC  to cancel this debacle.

Say you're issuing new cards, but don't, then cancel all the existing cards on the 19th Feb then, hey presto ,all their problems disappear at oncewink
