Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

I've been trying to order a card since yesterday but the website http://www.myessocard.com/ doesn't exist.

An email to accounts@myessocard.com has resulted in an automatic response only.

I'm having the same problem, I have a card and have used it once on 25 January.  I expected an email to confirm the cost but so far nothing.  The website myessocard.com simply does not open.

I emailed accounts@myessocard.com but all I've had is an automated response.

Nothing has left my bank so maybe the fuel is free

Story so far! Ordered a card on 1st December, it did not arrive. Contacted the company and they were answering the phones then and was told they had be swamped with applications and there was a delay. Fair enough I thought, waited a week and contacted them again, got through and was told to email as I would then get a response! Nothing! Contacted the Club through their Facebook page and was told that there had been a massive response, so I must wait! Then told by the Club that they were sending a new card as the other one had not arrived (still waiting!). Contacted the club again and was told I must wait up to 10 working days for delivery, that expires tomorrow. Then we read that they had 90,000 applications and now everyone is getting a new updated card! It would have been nice to have received the first one! I reckon that if I do get a card I will probably have to wait until all the newer ones have been delivered.

Oh, in the mean time the name on the website has changed and the T&Cs have been changed.

If I want to cancel this non existant card who would I contact as they don't answer phones or emails, so I have no doubt they will not even look at letters!

And lastly, I have considered cancelling my subscription to the club, but that would mean cutting my nose off to spite my face (and my face really needs my nose!)

A question to any CMC staff whom I’m sure must be monitoring these posts.

Given that Pump King ignore virtually all attempts at contact by individuals, can the resources and position of the CMC be used to contact Pump King to secure, on behalf of those of us who have provided our bank details, a commitment to cancel our agreements and delete our bank account details?

Obviously individuals would have to opt into such arrangements, but I don’t want anything further to do with this scheme ever again, but I’m nervous that they hold my debit card details.

From the time you purchase the fuel using the card until your account is debited is approximately 7 days!

I think as mentioned  in earlier posts pump king have been "over welmed" with the response to the "offer?"from the various organisations it has been promoted via, but it seems have not responded by employing more staff to cope

I have 'followed' all 70 pages of this discussion and am still unable to decide whether it is 1) a scam or 2) a monumental CU on the part of the company or, worse, 3)the inability of the club to ensure that any offer is done by a company that is capable of delivering the service as outlined.

BVM - don't forget the vacuum operated windscreen wipers and lack of heating inside, and the 6 volt battery!   Mind you with only three wires (lights, starter motor and alternator) it was easy to fix an electrical fault. Wouldn't like to try doing so today!

not number 1, Definitely number 2 and partially number 3.

Of course the offer would be oversubscribed because of the way it was advertised.

i.e. Sign up for free and you could save x number of pence per litre at Esso garages. Even if locally you don't make those savings, if any at all, it would be a handy card just to have in your wallet when you're touring even if you never use it. Also it has the Esso name associated with it which gives it some validity although as we have found out it has nothing to do with the Esso company at all.

There would have been an estimation of the number of sign ups they would have got and the club should have ensured Pump King could meet that initial demand. Ultimately both brands have suffered reputational damage because of it. I'll be wary if I see an offer for mybpcard and myshellcard in the future.

Still can't believe it is still being advertised as My Esso Card though. Way too similar to Essocard.com which is esso's official fuel card.

I would suggest that you could order a replacement debit card from your bank, which should ensure that your registered card would not be able to be used by anyone else, as it would come with a different 16 digit number?

Obviously, the best way is to cancel via Pump-King's email system but, as has been stated by many, that isn't going to happen anytime soonundecided

Anyone else having problems with this offer?  We applied at the beginning of December, got an email on 24th December saying our account had been activated and we would received our card in the next 7-10 days, but still waiting.  Emails just elicit the standard "someone will get back to you" reply (no-one does!) and telephone calls just go through to an answerphone.  Has anyone actually received one of these elusive cards??
