Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

A question to any CMC staff whom I’m sure must be monitoring these posts.

Given that Pump King ignore virtually all attempts at contact by individuals, can the resources and position of the CMC be used to contact Pump King to secure, on behalf of those of us who have provided our bank details, a commitment to cancel our agreements and delete our bank account details?

Obviously individuals would have to opt into such arrangements, but I don’t want anything further to do with this scheme ever again, but I’m nervous that they hold my debit card details.

Hi everyone,

Currently Club staff in the Contact Centre are following up with My Esso Card regarding any queries and complaints that have come into us via phone, email or social media, and contacting them daily with all outstanding issues to get these resolved as quickly as possible.

If you have any issues that are not answered by the FAQs, we can pass on your details to our team. We will need to confirm your Membership number and the email address you registered with, and as we're not able to take these details via Club Together as it is a public forum, please either give us a call on 01342 318813, email memberenquiries@camc.com or through Facebook or Twitter if you prefer

Many thanks

They ask for the mileage and registration when paying at a service station, but when you log onto the website none of this is present so you need a paper slip anyway if you keep records?

My experience with the Esso card has been exasperating.  I ordered the card and it finally arrived and now it does not work as the pin number is incorrect.  Trying to call or email is impossible as NOBODY can help and emails go un-answered.  Be warned this is not a pleasant money saving experience!

I have 'followed' all 70 pages of this discussion and am still unable to decide whether it is 1) a scam or 2) a monumental CU on the part of the company or, worse, 3)the inability of the club to ensure that any offer is done by a company that is capable of delivering the service as outlined.

BVM - don't forget the vacuum operated windscreen wipers and lack of heating inside, and the 6 volt battery!   Mind you with only three wires (lights, starter motor and alternator) it was easy to fix an electrical fault. Wouldn't like to try doing so today!

RF, who could forget the vacuum wipers, almost as memorable as the CC Myessocard offer!

I think CY's old MkII Consul would have them too. Vacuum wipers that is, not memories of myessocard!wink

although they ask for milage you dont have to give it, i always give a registration but think this is also optional, would you get anything in paper or online re milage/registration if you paid by debit card ?undecided I think this sort of info is only given/ required if it is a fleet vehicle

if you click on the order ref it gives you date time you put diesel in, price per ltr, number of ltrs and price, and you can put this info in a pdf file and print, looks fairly comprehensive to me laughing

A pity myessocard wasn't available then. Who knows, Esso at 5d to 8d a gallon cheaper might have made those wipers whizz across the windscreen!winksmile

From the FAQs

Q: Are there any fees?

A: There is no sign up fee, no transaction fee, no processing fee and no minimum spend.

I suggest this needs to be rewritten if PK are charging people who take less than 15 litres - their Ts&Cs suggest a £1 charge.  As currently written it doesn't feel a full and open answer.

What is the point if you don't have the mileage?  If they have the other details why not the mileage, but then it seems in your opinion they can do no wrong?
