Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

My Esso Card or Pump King or whatever they are now calling themselves is an absolute joke!!! I ordered my card through the Club's website on the 7th December and still don't have a card.

When you look up My Esso Card's details they were only incorporated in April 2018 as Pump King and they also incorporated in Luxembourg too!!!

If you try to phone them the phone just rings and rings and then you get diverted to an international ringing tone and finally a voice mail box.

Quite frankly this company appears to be as dodgy as hell and I'm incredibly surprised and disappointed that the Caravan and Motorhome Club doesn't appear to have carried out ANY due diligence before making it public on our website.

I suggest that the Club withdraws any advert on the website regarding this company and I am getting VERY close to referring "My Esso Card" / Pump King to Trading Standards and also the Information Commissioner's Office for further investigation.

I signed up and passed all my personal details including debit card details to this company and I'm getting more and more concerned that they are not being stored in a safe manner.

If they can't sort out the card debacle how on earth can we expect them to store our personal data in a safe manner!!!

SNAP - Exactly my experience too.

I managed to call "Customer Services" 3 weeks ago who said to email them, and I got a reply saying they would be in touch ASAP - nothing since.

I said I had a PIN allocated 5 weeks ago visible on the website account page, so I assumed the card & PIN had been intercepted in the Post - and therefore security was my main concern.  Still no response which suggests nothing has been posted out despite the weekly price text stating the "backlog" had been dealt with a month ago....

Reading this forum makes me think we have all just been duped by scammers after our card financial information - and nothing anyone is saying gives me any confidence that I am wrong !!

My card has still not arrived having applied on the 7th December but looking at some of the reported issues I am hoping these are sorted when it finally does.

It does say that if you have not received the card within a month to contact them. Good luck with that

Pump-King price for the next week for diesel = £1.251

Local Esso station today (½ mile away) £1.279

Local Sainsburys today (2 miles away) £1.259

At best the saving is £0.028 / ltr. Just how they arrive at the advertising statement in to OP that the AVERAGE saving per ltr will be £0.08 for standard diesel is beyond me. Is this a knowingly false statement to entice people into the scheme? Can the statement be substantiated? If not, isn't it illegal?

I think, if you read the OP the saving of up to 8p is for Premium Diesel

up to 5p for Standard Diesel.

Still nowhere near the supposed saving but......

Have another checkwink

We have five major supermarkets with fuel stations with easy reach of us so I didn't think this scheme would be much benefit for me personally. Perhaps I should point out that I don't buy a massive amount of fuel as my small car  only does about 2500 miles a year and the motorhome the same. It is rumoured that 90000 people have tried to sign up for this scheme. If that is true surely a fair number of people will be within easy reach of a supermarket?  Perhaps people need to think more carefully whether this offer really does provide them with a real benefit with meaningful savings?

I agree as when at home our weekly refill is under £30 however when out and about quite often it will exceed £70 and at that point the saving is appreciated especially as you are probably on holiday.

Hi,

Trying to login to retrieve the PIN for my new card.

Is anyone else finding that myessocard.com is being directed to domain-holding.co.uk ?  Seems as if they have not renewed the domain name ?

Apologies, you're dead right, I misread the OP, it is £0.05 for standard diesel but as you rightly say, what we are seeing is nowhere near the supposed saving.

Problem with comparing prices is they vary so greatly across the country. Around here diesel is between £1.29 and £1.30 this weekend. Nearest supermarket selling fuel is around 1hour 15minute round trip. Nearest Esso garage 15 minute round trip. So for some this card is useful for others it won’t be.

See attached screenshots from the Defence Discount Directory.

Hopefully may calm the concerns of some of us. Shame they can’t put this on their website, email us or pass on to the Club.
