After comparing the options, went with RAC Arrivals from t'other club as was an annual package for the car and significantly cheaper.
I've yet to read a bad review of Red Pennant but to me it was the price which was off-putting and Arrivals offers me everything I needed.
Of course the proof will be if I need it!!!
AS others have said - check van length carfelly with other companies to check you're ok.

No worries its made me look at the other clubs RAC Arrivals compared to my Mayday Green Flag.
We have RAC Arrival, Dave. Couldn't fault them when we needed them - including being carried home from Scotland.
They are amenable to negotiations re premiums. I ring them every year and they willingly reduce the cost of the premium.

I had a quick glance 'Tinny', perhaps a more indepth comparison when renewal nears in Feb. At the moment its two cars plus caravan plus homestart, in fact the full package for £124 with Mayday.

Ours is personal based which gives both of us cover in any car, whether as driver or passenger, plus homestart and the usual roadside assistance and carriage of cvan/MH with no weight or length limit. The price started at £197 this year but I easily haggled it down to £116.
Sometimes you can get an offer on joining of a free year's membership of C&CC.

We have used Mayday twice and it was faultless so tend to stick with them. The RAC cover with C&CC was more expensive and I see no reason to have to haggle to get what I have already.
It might be slightly more expensive but like Mayday it covers any size of vehicle and if you tour on the Continent it can work out very much cheaper for the larger vehicle when you add the European Cover option. As an RAC member, you also get free call outs for punctures, invaluable if you don't normally carry a spare wheel.
