Hi Jenny, we recommend MayDay to all of our Members. You can find more information here http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/insurance/uk-breakdown-and-recovery. Tracy

Be carefull, if you opt for cover other than May day and your caravan is over a certain length, they may not recover it. Mayday is worth the money.

As said, check VERY carefully in the tiny print that any organisation provides the cover you need. It depends on the price you want to pay and how much effort you want to put in to your camparison.

If you want to go abroad then you will also need to check carefully as Mayday only covers UK trips whereas other companies (e.g. Brittania) can extend this to Europe.

Also Safeguard caravan insurance do a bolt on CARAVAN  and car (NOT car with caravan attached) cover which, as a package is the best we have found for our circumstances and needs.

In all of this, you do need to be prepared to read the details unless you just go with perceived wisdom and buy Club products.

The selling point for us with Mayday, as we only do UK,is if you breakdown on your way to holiday they take you there and if car not mended, will bring everything back to where ever each part needs to be

Thanks for the advise, I will only be touring in UK I'm not brave enough to take the caravan over to Europe on my own. I have looked at Mayday ( Greenflag) and just might buy.

If you do go that way you should get a Free Night Voucher as an introductory offer, which could be worth  £30+ depending on choise of site, date of visit & number in your party.

I have just had to call out the RAC to the CL I am at.  Something electrical discharged the battery to 3v Surprised in just 2 hours!  I was going to move the car to hitch up position as I think tomorrow will be a wet start!  They were with me in just under 30 mins and hopefully recharged.  Fingers crossed for starting tomorrow but I can think of worse places to be stranded!  Thank you RAC.
