Hi.  We are new to caravanning this year and have decided as the kids are now grown up we would like to spend christmas and new year away in our new van, perhaps meet some new friends.

Has anyway got any ideas where we could go?  We dont mind travelling in the UK.

Write your comments here...Yes, I suggest you look at Ross Park, Ipplepen Devon they have a superb Xmas and New Year package, with  superb meals and buffets and evening entertainment suitable for   "our age" not loud computer noise with the facility  to a small dance floor and great surroundings and like minded people. You can split the package and take  Christmas or New Year.We have done it since our families left home and now too many grandchildren to care for... SG2

Other half fancies a christmas away but I am not so keen. No problem the week after.

I am going to suggest we sit in the caravan for a few hours this coming christmas to see how it feels (it's stored next to the house) Happy

We have been going away over Christmas for the last 7 years. This year we go mid December and stay until 28th December. Thoroughly enjoy spending quality time together. I buy most of the silly presents for OH whilst away as we go into town one morning, seperate and do our shopping and meet up for lunch. We both hate present shopping and rarely have anything that we want bought for us. We limit presents to £15 each. We are not tightwads but see no point in expensive presents that are put into a drawer unused.

We go for walks most days and are usually out and about from 9am until 2 or 3pm. If we stayed at home we would do very little truth be told.

Welcome to Club Together, Ken and Lorn. If you are planning on having Christmas dinner in your caravan, make sure the turkey you buy is small enough to fit in your caravan oven!

Hi

We are also new to caravanning and would be grateful for similar advice.  We have 2 girls, aged 14 and 10 who have asked if we could go somewhere in the caravan for Christmas. We are based in West Yorkshire.  Is it something families would do?? Any advice/recommends for any sites would be gratefully received!
