Caravan for day trip?

It might sound like a daft question, but can you day trip with a Caravan? For example, pull into a quiet beach car park and use it as a base for the day.  I can't find anything online. If it's ok, any suggestions for destinations in South Wales that would be suitable ?

Cheers

Obviously everybody has differing requirements and opinions. BUT  I wouldn't be bothered winding up the steadies and hitching up the van just to go out for the day.

Much rather put the camping loungers / folding table  in the boot of the car. drive to the beauty spot, spend the day and return home at night.

Mind you, I live in an area which abounds in easily reachable beauty spots .

Others may not be so fortunate, so taking the caravan for a day's outing may be their best option.

My view as well. All that shuffling off the drive, hooking up etc so that I can brew up at some beauty spot - easier to take a flask. That's where MHs score - just get in and drive plus you have your loo with you. Just need big parking bays.

What are you going to 'hook up' to at a beauty spot....

surely, a mh would use gas and a caravan would stay ar home...Wink

Why should a caravan stay at home?  Caravans use gas as well BB - didn't you realise that?  You can use your van in the same way as a motorhome.

No help to you Jon but out off main season the east side of Marine Drive in Gorleston is wide enough and long enought to park your van.  No overnighting for either caravan or MH. I've done it a number of times.Happy

Jill, yes i do know that caravans can use gas.....although many seem determined to use as little in their lifetime as possible....

i was referring to the 'hooking up'.....which the vast majority of caravans seem unable to do without.....you excepted, of courseHappy
