When the club announced it's name change there were dozens of "new" posters putting their view ,now it has quietened down why aren't these posters carrying on with posting and joining in with other discussions ?????and the funsmile

Must admit I do miss the likes of the Admiral, Lord Brakewind and Tigerfish, you could always rely on something amusing from them, and to a certain extent Veto, he made me smile...SOMETIMES...

Sorry to be so negative, but, IMHO this site has gone downhill. Nothing has changed, hardly any response from those that "matter" to the many questions posed by members trying to find answers, but then again, this is not the place to ask questions, which becomes clear to see by the lack of  response.

Still the same old Trolls waiting to pounce, Why should a newbie post, when all that happens the majority of time seems to be a reply  that is sometimes quiet daunting to a new poster.

The trolls can throw what they like at me, but I have a resilience that carries me through, without harm.

I dip in to this forum now and then, but after a few minutes browsing, soon become bored with the same old rhetoric.

Good luck to the few members that try to make CT the forum it was, you have my admiration.....cool

I think we have to accept that not all members want to use the forum on a daily basis and some, probably quite a lot, dip in now and again to ask a question. On most forums it's easy to identify those who are the regulars, no harm in that as they tend to keep most forums going.

On the issue of supposed trolls. All I would say to people if they genuinely feel that a poster is trolling (as opposed to disagreeing with something that has been said) they should report such instances to the Community Manager. Every post has it's own facility to be reported if required.

I look in most days and skim through new posts. As we're not able to be out in the caravan much I can't contribute to current travels etc. If I can I reply to posts re sites, equipment  etc, but not being technically  minded, cannot answer many queries.

So, most of my posts tend to be in the General Chat section - and nothing much to do with caravanning (mainly confined to Farmimg, Family, and Folk music).

Maybe when we retire (haha!) that may change. But I'll be too old to care then.

It's just a shame that we have "lost" a few regulars because the forum has been a bit iffy , but it's up to them .......

It's a frustrating, long winded affair trying to do most things on this website, so I am sure it has put a lot off that used to post on a regular basis. I have just been browsing Club Site section, eventually got to the site I wanted to look at, Chatsworth. It then asked me to log in to do something, so I did. Only to find that I was looking at the Altnaharra Site now, so I have just given in, cannot be bothered to go through the whole rigmarole again.

We also had a small parcel from the Club this morning, another two copies of the GDO guide, in same envelope! That takes us to three now.

The whole set up seems to get more shambolic day by day. Powers that be need to get a grip on all aspects and sort things out, too much money needlessly wasted on errors. Sites remain nice, but parts of the organisation and administration are a right dog's breakfast!

A lot of new people posted when the re-branding was announced, at least they were able to have a voice and can join in anytime. I see new people on here every day, the review posts engage lots of different posters. The regulars add something, it's not a bad mix. smile

I'm not here much nowadays. It's not a rewarding experience. Slow website, sideways scrolling, erratic search etc.

Tend to go elsewhere now for caravanning discussions including Facebook which I've found is pretty good for site recommendations etc. CT is one of the better ones if you've got a technical question.

Maybe when newbies ask for advice or some technical advice moderates move it to another site then they have search through so many sites they get fed up like me  when there's so much knowledge out there to found  don't move it then we all learn from Avast scource of info i love passing on info learnt while travelling and from this site but get fed up when trying to find info as been moved
