When the club announced it's name change there were dozens of "new" posters putting their view ,now it has quietened down why aren't these posters carrying on with posting and joining in with other discussions ?????and the funsmile

I'm not here much nowadays. It's not a rewarding experience. Slow website, sideways scrolling, erratic search etc.

Tend to go elsewhere now for caravanning discussions including Facebook which I've found is pretty good for site recommendations etc. CT is one of the better ones if you've got a technical question.

Interesting you say that about Facebook. I belong to the Bailey Motorhome Owners group on Facebook. Personally I find Facebook quite frustrating because if it's a busy group you can never find anything as newer posts always layer over the top of older posts. At least in a forum like this, even with all it's imperfections posts are categorised and generally easy to find. Obviously Facebook is pretty easy to use and post pictures compared to here but it is very much of the moment.

I find reading facebook stuff very unrewarding. I notice that after all this time however that the CC facebook link on this site still does not work.

Just use the 'search in group' function. It's much easier to find something in a Facebook group than it is on CT.

It's completely different from a forum and that's why the club has both. It's clear where staff time is diverted though and it's not here

I think  that the issue is we don't know who are the "newbies" are now with no star system (not that it should be bought back),perhaps there should be a post count, so that we can give the newbies a helping hand around the site, with no new comers it's just the same old things ......

Bored with mediocracy of the new website and subjects discussed.  Wildlife is the only one worth visiting from MPOV

I dont recognize this description of a forum plagued by "trolls" unless your definition  of one is someone who disagrees with you, its very heavily moderated (some might say too  heavily ) and what is lacking at the moment is enough folk willing to start new discussions or contribute to ones already running unless they involve logos or name changes, people are being driven away by boredom.

Agree with all of that, AD.

Whoops, must be careful.....I was recently 'reported' for having agreed with someone (all I wrote was "I agree").....yes really! surprised

The other advantage of Facebook (and other forums) is that you can block people if you find them irritating or boring. May lead to fewer reports
