I have just returned to caravaning after a 25+ year break and have now done our first trip. I started using CT to ask a few questions and have had some great help from some members, Thank you for the help.

I must say though that there seems to be a few on here that are quite intolerante of newbies to the point of rudeness.in my opinion.and this is very off putting, I think in every post (apart from my introduction one) I have participated in there has been at least one reply relating to my post which I feel is just dam rude/arrogant.

Not too sure I will continue on here at the moment?

Just how I see it ?

It is also very interesting to observe the difference that annonymity engenders.

The C&CC forum reguires the use of real names, and (so far) everything is conducted in a polite and cordial manner.

Maybe with the C&CC there is just not enough members posting , the other night there were only 3 members on line ,and one of those was meSurprised

Yes, very true.  It is difficult to know whether annonimity is a factor in that or not.  Certainly the number of forum members has  grown a lot recently, but this hasn't translated into active contributers, perhaps because of this.

One thing I have noticed - and disapprove of - is a tendency to post the identical query on both CC and C&CC at the same time.  (Fair enough to ask on one, and if no satisfactory reply received, then post on the other a few days later).

Write your comments here...Vic, what is the problem in asking the same question on two forums? It could be that the poster is trying to get as many views as possible.

I was going to ask the same, JD. I think, though, it's a shame to let Milo's thread go off topic.

Vic,  the majority of posters on here are OK. There are a few, no more than around five, whose posts give new members the wrong impression of the forum.  Just carry on posting, ignore those troublemakers, ---- the rest of us do,  ----enjoy the forum.

Cheers.  K

Kennine I agree. However the original poster has himself asked for advice two days ago and has received several replies, non of which he has responded to.

Some may think this is also rude. Just my thoughts on the situation.

Milo - I would urge you to stick with CT which is overwhelmingly a positive and friendly forum. I've met many fellow members and they are without exception focused on our shared hobby of caravanning (or MHing), friendly and sociable and great to know.

The problem with forums like this is that occasionally a post may read as rude where no offense was intended - the written word comes over very differently to what one might experience in conversation face to face.

There are just a very small number of posters who deliberately seem to set out to cause bad feeling and these are easily identified. This is the same with any forum. Just put it down to bad manners and rise above it, I say.

Enjoy your vanning and enjoy the company of like minded folk on the forum. Happy

Just a thought, Milo. Keep a look out for smileys. If a post sounds odd but is littered with HappyLaughingWink it will be humorous and well intentioned in the main. Unfortunately there are one or two people who use them as a double bluff but you'll soon work out their true intent.
