PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

I have been trying to search for a CL tonight. I was unable to get past the county listings, when I clicked on the towns it produced the whole of the UK. A worse result than previously when the UK lists appeared after the first search. I resorted to a map search, the whole process was frustrating.

I also tried to book a site, I wanted to read the reviews first but was limited to a few and then taken to the "send a review page."

Unacceptable on all counts.

CL search. Slight improvement today I could see the correct towns following the county search. However it reverted back to all UK towns after the first attempt.

The newly added "where's the fire gone" topic must qualify as the most difficult to access although it is possible, with determination, to get there.....undecided why is this happening?

Not just me then. I kept getting that roadsign on the discussions page but got in from the last post on the threads page. To me the problem seems to be getting worse. Especially the duplicate threads, where if you try and work through the pages you end up in the duplicate. A few weeks ago it seemed a rare occurrence. Now they are common place.

I feel most new people will soon give up trying to take part, a pity as this latest error page came from from a new poster.

Yes I agree. It is now almost impossible to get into. I only managed to access it from my latest posts. New posters are just going to give up.

Hi everyone,

Thank you to you all for your feedback and patience., I have an update on duplicate discussions.

As you are aware, a lot of the issues with accessing discussions are occurring due to duplicate discussions. The project team have been looking at a solution to reduce the amount of duplicates we are getting - both discussions and reviews - as we know how frustrating this is, making the forum difficult to view and navigate. Part of the issue is that when a new discussion is created the submit button does not 'grey' or 'freeze' so if the page is loading it looks like it's not been submitted and as such the creator clicks on the submit button again (I've done this myself) and as such a duplicate discussion is posted at the same time as the original. The discussions then creates a duplicate URL so if you click on one you might get directed to the other, or get error messages.

To solve part of the issue, the project team are going to be 'freezing' the submit button so that when a new discussion is created and the page holds, if the creator clicks submit again then this will not create another discussion. This should hopefully help with a lot of the issues we are experiencing as the duplicates will no longer appear. This is due to be implemented in the next couple of weeks. There is another part of this problem too - to ensure unique URLs are created to any duplicate discussions and this is also being investigated and I hope to be able to give you an update on this soon.

Thanks for the update Rowena. However, this has been going on for a long time. On the face of it freezing the submit button does not seem a difficult fix. Why so long in getting it implemented? Also why could this have not been done before? As even if it was not the only cause, it would certainly have removed a significant source.
