PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

Last post on discussions page is not always the last. This has been happening for a long time. However, seems to be more frequent of late.

The last post shown on the Discussions page under the Introductions heading is days old and at least 5 other threads have newer posts. I think this is what Steve is saying.

I would report my own post in the hope that someone might read it and act but we seem to have lost that option again.

I give up.yell

There seem to be a number of duplicate posts; just looked in Overseas and on the first page there are 6 new posts, but 2 of those are duplicates.  Once people start replying to one or the other, it really get confusing, you click on one thread with x number of posts in it, yet when you get to the thread it has a different number of posts and seems to be the other one.

Apologies if this has been mentioned on here before, it's just that recently there seem to have been quite a number of duplicate posts and I wondered whether it isn't possible to merge them.  Probably not, thinking about it cry

Edit: just looked in UK Sites and there is 1 new post in triplicate, a new phenomenon?

It seems to be an increasing problem. Rowena has been investigating the issue but it seems to be proving difficult to resolve. Can it be as simple as someone hitting the reply button more than once due to the slowness of the site? Some who have commented after a duplicate post have said they did not try to send twice. We seem to have had to put up with a far from perfect platform for far too long.

Thanks for the response David.  I had wondered myself whether it was due to hitting the reply button twice - I've been tempted to do that myself when replying, but stopped myself and the post has eventually appeared.  But I could understand someone new for example, not familiar with the "quirks" of this forum, thinking that the post hadn't gone, and hitting the reply button again.  Yet from what you say people are saying this isn't the case.

I agree though, that it does seem to be happening more often recently, and can't understand why it appears to be so difficult to resolve.

I agree, it's far from perfect, and it's now 8 months since it was launched; I won't be holding my breath for improvements any time soon based on past performance!

The last post is at it again. The one for Caravan / MH chat is showing a selection of latest posts, different each time you pull up the discussions page. Some are from the third page down on the listing.

When are they going to get these basics sorted.😡
