PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

Hi everyone,

I’m so sorry for the delay in updating you on progress being made to fix the defects on Club Together and the Club’s website. Please be assured our IT team are still working on these and I will let you know once we have further fixes to be released.

We now have an update with regards to the missing reviews on some of the Site pages on the Club’s website. After months of working to restore the missing review data, which has been a complex procedure involving recreating the old website and further development to the new website to add the missing reviews, we believe that we are now almost ready to run the import of missing reviews into the Caravan and Motorhome Club website. We are now testing extensively and expect to run the reviews into the live website between 31st May and 7th June.

We understand how frustrating this has been for you and we sincerely apologise for the amount of time this has taken – it was a considerable amount of work from our technical teams and included long lead times from suppliers for equipment and software to complete the process, as well as complex development work to enable the review upload.

The IT team have now also got a technical fix to remove the duplicate discussions. They are in the process of identifying which discussions have been affected and will then apply the fix to these.

We're also investigating a fix that will prevent this from occurring in the future.

I will keep you updated on what is being worked on next and will let you know as soon as I have more information on any of the fixes. As always thank you for your input and I apologise for the problems you have been experiencing.

Thank you for such a long post to indicate that it is possible that a couple of fixes may or may not be installed.

Can't say anymore as upsetting the messenger is not really fair!surprised

Hi Rowena

Thanks for the update. It will be good if they can fix the issue with duplicate threads.

With regard the reviews. Is this all reviews or just CL reviews? I think there was a lot of concern amongst CL users and owners that despite some reviews being older it left many CL's without reviews which left a lot of people in limbo. As far as regular Club site reviews I am not so sure they need to be restored as they are more frequently refreshed.

Has any progress been made with the Story Section? Many of the original photos in some of the older stories did not transfer over and there are many cases of the wrong photographs being attributed to a story which is very confusing. If they can't be restored should we not bite the bullet and delete those from a date where the photos started to get mixed up?

David

Hi David,

This mostly affected CL Sites but did also affect some Club Sites too.

I chased the Your Stories defect last week as agree if it can't be fixed these need to be removed or archived if possible. I will chase this again to find out if there has been any progress.

Thanks for highlighting this Tinwheeler and I will forward this on to our technical team as you shouldn't be able to see this. This is the message that a non-member sees when they first post as we now have a system to prevent trolls and spammers where the first few posts of a non-members account is approved before going live.

Good to hear from you Rowena. Have to say these fixes have been a long time coming! As has already been said mustn't shoot the messenger. But please keep IT noses to the grindstone 😉. We're had the new site for 6 months and it still doesn't function well 😂😂. Note to IT Team test, test, test, get some end user feedback - heed, test some more before release 😉😉. Communication really does help but the frustration can be very great indeed 😉

Hidden Gems in UK Sites.

Locking a duplicate thread seems to have resulted in locking both.

Would someone care to sort it?
