PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

A dull day here so I have just ploughed through all the posts in this sectionfrown.  Recovering from nearly giving up the will to live I can say that as a non techie user of this forum little seems to have changed.  I stiil get:

Error messages galore,

Slow response to print appearing on screen after hitting keys,

Duplicate threads,

Slow response when pressing 'reply' button,

Is the spell checker working?  Just typed 'tday' but no marking a spelling mistake!

Slow speed generally

Gave up waiting to make a ferry booking.

When browsing and then trying to log on back to home page.

I could go on but life is too short.

I have mentioned this before, strange icons on the reply box, which change back to the standard ones when you refresh. However, this time I did a screen shot. Could be just me, but if more widespread, something else that needs fixing.

Only got normal ones on my pc. How odd! Must look out for this effect.

Number of unread posts "cookie" not working correctly.

As the numerous faults with this forum remain unresolved six months after launch, consideration should be urgently given to sacking the present team and employing those able to do the job.

Cyber yacht this was posted by a member of staff on  CT and Facebook for everyone thread yesterday.

Not sure what you'll make of it πŸ˜‰.

Thank you for your comments everyone, I can see this is a big frustration for you all. I would like to clarify that the website and social media are managed by two separate teams, so our resources are evenly distributed between the two. Whilst social media is important for the Club, it’s by no means the face of the Club, all of our communication channels are equally as important.

In response to your concerns over the amount of time taken to fix what appear to be minor issues – each bug needs to be investigated and a fix developed for each one. As you can imagine, this can take time. Once we have identified a fix, each one needs to be built, developed and tested (often multiple times) before we make these changes visible to you. As some of you have already mentioned, there are other areas of the website which take higher priority, although some of the more serious CT issues are high on the list.

Thank you to everyone for hanging on in there, especially the moderators. We realise this is a frustrating time and we really appreciate your patience. Please bear with us as we continue to work to resolve the issues and when we have any news we will update you all in the snagging list.

Wonder why the "testing (often multiple times)" was not carried out before foisting this version on us?

nellie, i second your thoughts

...back in the (working) day.....an overnight business critical issue would be debugged, fixed, tested (often multiple timeswink) and then put back into production by the on-call staff before they went home for a hard earned cuppa and kip.....

there are so many CT easy quick wins (generally sloppy navigational issues) that could be grouped together, fixed, tested and rolled out together in a very short time....

so, these constant reminders from 'staff' of how 'incredibly long' it takes to fix even the tiniest issue come across as extremely patronising to anyone who has the slightest idea about how systems are built and maintained in the real world....

in a real 'service' business, to take six months to (not yet) fix a bug where (for example) hitting 'like' takes you back to the start of the thread, would have resulted in.....well, fill in your own words .........

regarding the definitive snagging list....

where is the full list of proposed changes that make up the post implementation fixes? this will show those who have reported issues whether they have made it to the list.....ie its been acknowledged as a bug.

where are the timescales/implementation dates for the roll out of each item on the list? this shows that the club has planned what they are doing and wants to manage our expectations realistically, rather than this constant 'wait and see'...

i cant believe the club isnt totally embarrassed by this 'situation'....
