PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

Well, apart from its "okey cokey" performance, it does as you post. I do expect however that "new" means a post that has not been read, as no doubt do 90% of other internet users. I do not expect that any unread posts that I do not manage to read in the session to disappear from being highlighted. Is it really too much to ask of the IT department to create a cookie that practically every other website on the internet is capable of delivering?

I repeat Rochelle, it certainly does not work on an iPad 3. They do not all disappear when I log out, which is what we are told should happen. So clearly not working as it should on all devices.

The borders are an indication that they are tweaking things. It also indicates that they don't know what they are doing.

Hi Cyberyacht,

The "NEW" flag is shown for any item that was created after your previous login time, it is not related to whether you have viewed the item or not.

We've tested this multiple times and it's working as expected for me, could you explain exactly what you're experiencing please?

Thanks

Why did the "experts" change the meaning of NEW. It used to indicate all new posting from the last time one viewed that section, and so helped to identify which ones to read. It makes no sense now, if it's only new postings since logging on for this session. I, and would guess many others, want to follow a discussion not just read the last few postings, especially if it's one concerning technical issues.

Why should it indicate they don't know what they're doing, CY? You jump to conclusions there. I fear you are taking this way too seriously. Think of your BP.

Why is this now appearing in the "Ask the Expert" section?

Posted on 24/01/2017 20:33

See my post on the previous page, Nellie. Everything is going in Expert.laughing

It appears to be an attempt to delineate the text area by the use of what under HTML4 code is the HR attribute. Why they would make them as wide as they have and as they are superfluous as well, it tells me all I need to know.It appears to be an attempt to delineate the text area by the use of what under HTML4 code is the HR attribute. My BP is fine. The doc checked it on Monday.

No lines on my Android phone just laptop. Device related?

Posted on 25/01/2017 15:13

Think not Brue, I had them on my Android phone, Samung S5 but not on my Kindle Fire.  They are not on my laptop which I'm using at present either.  Who knows?

Edit Just checked my phone, which is on charge, and still have the lines.  So it hasn't been 'upgraded'.
