How do we move on?

I've just been looking through the last few weeks of posts and I guess that there's probably less than 20 of us that regularly post on here, with probably a few new members who contribute occasionally.  But given the total membership of the CC we are nothing more than a mere pimple on the Elephants B**b.  So,- its not really any wonder that the CC ruling body take very little notice (If any) of what we say.

So how do we improve things? Personally I have long thought that our power of debate and thought, is often diluted by cynical humour. However, given our tiny ability to influence things, that is not really surprising.

So how do we make this forum more influential?

Or perhaps that is not our role?  I really do not know, & even if I did, that would do little to ease the situation, because others would seek to argue the opposite view.

So where do we go from here? Do we accept that we are of no real value at all?  Should we try harder to show the way forward?  But perhaps that's not our role!   Maybe just a light weight banter fellowship will be always our role.  But if that is the case why do we get so cross when we think that someone else is upsetting or disagreeing with us?

Perhaps its too late, and I should go to bed, but I really do think that once we were on to something, - now I'm not so sure!

Agree with virtually all that, K. Just the one unnecessary word (IMHO!) Wink

I feel a group hug coming onCool

You keep your muddy paws to yourself. The last thing I want is an embrace by a slobbery dog.

There seem to be three sorts of contributors on here. 1. Those who want advice.  2. Those who are happy to give advice.  3. Those who just want to chat, discuss, natter, and argue with each other.

I think you can pretty much judge which group posters fit into by the stars they display. Wink

One thing that is missing IMO is a section on Technology. Hopefully this will be addressed in the new forum. At the moment information of this type is dispersed amongst many sections. A specific place to put queries of this type and a reliable search routine, that would allow searches of specific sections, would be invaluable and greatly enhance the forum.

Whilst I agree with you it does present some difficulties. If it were Home Technology it would fit nicely in the Social Room but if it was also to encompass hobby related technology it could get a bit confusing? What had you in mind to include in the section?

I think the problem the forum faces is that there are so many other places where discussions take place. It is suggested only about 20 people post regularly for example. I belong to a facebook group called Motorhome Madness that has in excess of 7,000 members, 2,000 of which have joined in the last few months. I suggest that, to a newcomer, this forum looks very old fashioned. No way to post photographs for instance.
