How do we move on?

I've just been looking through the last few weeks of posts and I guess that there's probably less than 20 of us that regularly post on here, with probably a few new members who contribute occasionally.  But given the total membership of the CC we are nothing more than a mere pimple on the Elephants B**b.  So,- its not really any wonder that the CC ruling body take very little notice (If any) of what we say.

So how do we improve things? Personally I have long thought that our power of debate and thought, is often diluted by cynical humour. However, given our tiny ability to influence things, that is not really surprising.

So how do we make this forum more influential?

Or perhaps that is not our role?  I really do not know, & even if I did, that would do little to ease the situation, because others would seek to argue the opposite view.

So where do we go from here? Do we accept that we are of no real value at all?  Should we try harder to show the way forward?  But perhaps that's not our role!   Maybe just a light weight banter fellowship will be always our role.  But if that is the case why do we get so cross when we think that someone else is upsetting or disagreeing with us?

Perhaps its too late, and I should go to bed, but I really do think that once we were on to something, - now I'm not so sure!

Perhaps as a Mod I have the advantage that I can go back and edit my stories which allows me to add more pictures into the body of the story. Perhaps there is a case for a slightly longer editing window with stories than currently available but I have no idea how practical that suggesting is and I think it would have to be discussed with Rochelle.

If people have the means to add pictures I would really encourage them to make the effort as it really does add life to a story.

Any chance of an updated tutorial on the forum to give us 'uneducated' an idea on how to upload photos (in simple terms)

Not having uploaded photos anywhere I looked for & found help on the Photo Uploading thread.  From this I realised a lot depended on what you used & the software. I gather ipads/iphones don't have Adobe Flash so won't work. & that resizing is necessary whatever software is used. I had to try a number of times before suceeding. This is resized small.

Being able to edit a story for an extended period, would probably make it more likely we would get round cranking up the windows machine to insert them. However, I am hoping that is all academic as the new software will allow easy insertion from an iPad or android device.

It can be a bit off putting to newcomers to be told not to ask questions but to just search to see if their query has been asked before.

I first posted the first week the forum started. I tend to pop in when I have something to either ask or wish to discuss.

What I can't be bothered to do is search and troll through long threads on the off chance that my question will be answered.

I really do think photos are important in the story section particularly.  Although, like DavidK I have the facility to go back and edit, as a moderator, I find the easiest way of adding photos is but adding them to the comment boxes at the bottom.  This enables me to add them when I have time to do it.  Anyone can use this method without having to worry about editing the initial contribution.
