CAMC site fees

Is anyone finding the site fees are becoming unaffordable especially for 2 adults and 3 kids? Over £60 per night in some places.  It's not like we are taking up anymore space or using more electricity. Cheaper to get a hotel with breakfast included and someone makes your bed!

The answer is to vote with your feet. We used to book up to six weeks per year on Club sites, some years we did four weeks (2 weeks April and 2 weeks September) at Tewkesbury but due to the clubs rising prices we now do about 7 days on club sites and the rest on private. We ended up joining the CaCC whose price's are cheaper with added discounts. It's a shame as we liked Tewkesbury but £40 per night when it's not school hols is a tad expensive in our opinion.

Not actually in Tewkesbury, but the C&CC Winchcombe site is not far away and is a lovely site. If you qualify for age related discount, in September it works out at £30.68 a night. However, for those who don’t, the savings aren’t as great as the cost is £38.40.

An interesting comparison. The site at Winchcombe was the very first C&CC site we used, many years ago now. And it is a very nice site. But ... you have to drive (and then pay to park) to get pretty much anywhere, particularly Tewkesbury. From the CAMC site you can walk into the town itself, or take any number of walks along the river without moving your vehicle off site. So in that case the tenner or so difference in price surely makes the Tewkesbury site itself preferable (notwithstanding the price itself!) smile

I would agree M, particularly if you want to visit Tewkesbury and are in a MH. The site is in a great location. However, if you just want a few nights to do a bit of walking or have a car and want to visit places locally, other than Tewkesbury, I would go for Winchcombe even if we weren’t getting oldies rates.
