CAMC Insurance

In the early hours of 11th November, we had our 4 month old, top of the range twin axle caravan stolen by a gang of five very “professional” thieves carrying massive crow bars. They all wore balaclavas, and totally ignored the cctv cameras dotted around the storage site. They smashed through electric barriers, and gemmied off wheel and hitch locks, on both ours, and another similar nearly new caravan, removing the alarm and tracker boxes leaving them on the ground. They then drove off into the night using two vans with no number plates.  The police followed up, reviewed the cctv footage and declared there was nothing further they could do. Luckily we were insured new for old with the Caravan Clubs insurers, and their treatment of us and our claim has been absolutely first class. Their Loss Adjuster was very supportive, and gave us complete confidence. As a result, four weeks and three days from the day of the theft, payment was made in full, and we have our replacement 2020 model arriving in January. I could not recommend the CAMC insurance highly enough, they were absolutely magnificent.

I think WN would probably agree that vehicle theft is normally paid out after about 30 days in case of the vehicle being recovered.

Surely, the main point of the thread is that the OP is happy with the service he received.

All the other peripheral stuff being discuss is just so much faff

This is exactly right Oneputt. Although these days very little seems to be recovered.

By law all companies offering insurance products are regulated and in a wider context so are all companies offering financial products.  Historically there are good reasons for this.  The fact that CC Ltd has found a way to circumvent this requirement makes me wonder why.  If it is such a reputable company why would they do that, especially when other mutuals offering similar products don't.

the club are in the business of making money from whatever they sell and endeavouring to make the club a one-stop-shop for anything related to caravaning/MH ing, they were selling an insurance  product ,  they were making money from selling that product, they saw a way of making more money from this product by changing the way in which they sold it. Do you think that after going to great lengths to change the way the product is sold they are going to put a revenue stream in jeapordy by ducking and diving on claims, I dont think so.

Again Rufs you do not adress the point. Few, if any, think the CMC will be ducking and diving. The simple fact is that for anybody happy for unregulated cover the CMC is a good product.

disagree, my only point is, that i have made clear all along, is that if you dont like the product walk away, no point Googling worthless bits of legal jargon posting on here and trying to pick holes in the product, it is what it is and it aint going to change any time soon,
